This portrait of Gambit was done for the Superhero Masterpiece Project that's been organized by .Alphonse Mucha is one of my favorite artists, and Gambit is probably my favorite superhero, so I decided to make my picture of Gambit in the art nouveau style and to have it mimic Mucha's Job Cigarettes poster. I looked through tons of Mucha's work before I finally decided on using that poster as the basis for my entry to the Masterpiece project. It was a lot of fun to make this!
I drew and painted all of this in Photoshop with my tablet. Completed in November of 2006.

Mucha is a favorite of mine too. You can definitely see his influences along with your's as well. And I have a soft spot for the X-Men. ^_^

If I had to pick one superhero, it would be by far Gambit. The attitude. The power. The eyes. Hell, even is hair is awesome.
Besides, attacking people with playing cards is just freaking awesome.

Wow your Gambit is amazing here. Never noticed the smoke was echoing hair from another picture, that's cool. I just imagined Kurt Russell as Gambit out of nowhere... weird... he's definitely got the attitude, but maybe someone newer would be better 
Gambit really does know how to make pink look right >< hehe.
