Trojan horse quote is Pitchfork magazine talking about Courtney Love.

“I’ll bleed pink” is a lyric by Poppy, from her song Bleach Blonde Baby.

Also “Every day I am given…” is paraphrased from a Waterparks song, Turbulent. The original lyric was “You gave me hell on Earth / And said to ‘Work with it’.” Starting it with “Every day I am” is not music related but is referencing the title to Yayoi Kusama’s first poetry book- “Every Day I Pray For Love”. I really liked the title and tried to write some poems riffing off it but it went nowhere. There’s been a lot of Yayoi Kusama works in my local gallery so I mentioned her as a nod to the influence she would hav made in my work, however slight.
