Now, while I am a DC fangirl at heart, there is no denying that my love for the Guardians of the Galaxy films is pretty big. They are my favourite films out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, with Yondu absolutely stealing the show in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

So, naturally, I had to make something to represent that.

This has taken me far longer than I initially planned, and while I'm usually pretty good at estimating my time frames for pieces -- this one absolutely took me by surprise.

I knew that I wanted to really do his character justice -- and I can say that half of my time was spent trying to capture his attitude without making him look like he was pulling Zoolander's blue steel expression.

I am immensely proud of how this turned out, and I think this is one of my favourite pieces that I've made in a long time (that isn't Captain Jack Sparrow).

This is done on 16"x20" black suede illustration board with an Iwata Eclipse airbrush, Createx/Wicked airbrush paints, Prismacolour pencil crayons, and black and white charcoal.

All said and done, this took me approximately 15 hours (the longest I've spent on a piece in quite some time).
