I was honestly surprised to see she's not using a revolver, then again I've been playing WAY too much Metal Gear.

Indeed, the saints would maybe find a kindred spirit in her, unless she was paid to hunt them down. Then it would just be plain business.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-27 11:46:43 +0000 UTC]
Aaaah, that actually makes some good sense. Actually, due to the suit and expressions she kinda reminds me of John Wick in a way, I can just see some mobsters talking about like "So, what is she like a Boogeyman?" "No, she's the one you send to kill the fuckin' Boogeyman", plus with her military background she'd probably approach her tasks with military precision.
Oh yeah, though if I recall correctly the Bratva had various markings, but this was a more common among high ranking members, then again I could be wrong.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-27 12:09:44 +0000 UTC]
Actually, you aren't wrong. She does indeed seek companionship when she isn't working, but she's somewhat socially awkward about this stuff, due to never having crushes when she was a child. Sometimes she acts way to monotone/formal and at other times she cannot help and notice every small detail about either her date or their surroundings, thus her dates sometimes end way to quickly.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JackOrJohn In reply to Daiskida [2016-06-27 12:23:28 +0000 UTC]
I think dates with people who are used to dating is kind of out of her element. Though, maybe someone who is similarly awkward in these situations would get along better with her.
The way I see it she may enjoy someone who is kind of mundane in comparison to her: hard-working, shy, maybe a little geeky. It would be interesting too, because I get the feeling that she wouldn't wanna tell him/her what she does in the fear of losing this person.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-27 12:50:25 +0000 UTC]
I def can see her hooking up with such a person, and about 'em finding about who she really is. I kinda see her home not really giving out her type of work, with it being decorated in a sort of minimalist fashion, thus never giving any real clue as what her occupation is, unless her somewhat toned body, heightened senses and the pendant give that away XD
Though, I'll add saying that the most scary part about her is someone who hires her doesn't pay. I did have this scene in mind of her breaking into one of her clients homes and pretty much shooting him infront of his wife and kids, saying that he should have paid her properly. An even telling the wife and kids if they wanna find her, they better hire someone dumb enough for this task.

I can imagine a scene where she is arrested, and he finds out what she does for a living.
---
*He visits Alexis after she is arrested, and they talk with phones through bulletproof glass*
Alexis: "I didn't want you to find out this way. But I guess I was just kidding myself, liking someone nice and normal like you. I won't sugar-coat it: I get paid to kill people, you get paid to file paper. Even in a perfect world, that's not something that's meant to last. I was… Selfish, thinking there could be something more besides me and my job… I shouldn't have used an innocent to fight my loneliness."
Him: … "I will wait for you."
Alexis: … "Is that supposed be funny? Didn't you just hear me? I. Kill. People. With guns! Big fucking guns! Is that someone you want around your family? Around you?! Or is it because you think there's something to save? That I need saving?! This is what I do! The only thing I can do! I am not meant to love someone, to settle down or have children like some average proigravshiy, and you're an doorak for thinking otherwise!"
*Alexis furiously hits the glass in front of her. His face remains neutral. Than he extends a hand and puts on the other side of the glass, like he wants to hold her hand*
Him: "I don't know what a doorak is, but I am no fool. This is gonna sound cheesy, but I don't think there's gonna be anyone else in my life quite like you. I will still wait for you."
*Alexis looks surprised, the she looks down. She is angry and gritting her teeth, but she is also happy for some reason she can't really make sense out of*
Alexis: "Idiot. That's what doorak means."
Him: "Oh. Well… Still ain't gonna give up on ya."
Alexis: "Doorak…!"
Him: "… Have I ever told you how sexy you sound when you're speaking russian?"
*Alexis is now gnashing her teeth, a single tear escaping her eye as she is feeling both happy and embarrassed beyond words*
Alexis: "Doorak, doorak, doorak…"

With the scene you describe, she kind of reminds me of Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill.

Okay, must admit that is the most adorable sounding scene ever. An oddly enough, the scene I described wasn't inspired by Kill Bill but instead by a Jason Statham movie called Parker. There, he played this thief who had a code that his employs never betray him, so surprise they betray him and he sets out to get some revenga!

I suggest you give it a watch, it's a pretty good movie. An while I agree the guy is seven levels of awesome, he should really pick better action movies before he becomes the new Steven Seagal of straight to DVD stuff.

I personally think Statham turning down the role of Bullseye on Daredevil was a big mistake.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-27 15:43:10 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, and Statham is kinda close to that, since he did some REALLY bad action movies. One that comes to mind is called "Homefront" and ho-boy did that feel like somethin' Steven would make if he was desperate for money. Actually, I think the issue is that he's just not used to playing badguys, I can only recall two movies where he played an antagonist: 1. was a shitty movie with Jet Li called "War" and 2nd was the 7th Fast and Furious movie. That's about it, since usually he plays either heroes or anti-heroes.

JackOrJohn In reply to Daiskida [2016-06-27 16:14:36 +0000 UTC]
You got that right. In reality he could probably play a lot of bad guys. I kind of imagine if they did a new Mortal Kombat movie, he could play Kano.
My personal faves with Statham would be Lock Stock and Two smoking barrels, the Crank-movies and Death Race.

Hmmm...Wasn't Kano an Aussie if I'm not mistaken? XD
Lock Stock and Two smoking barrels was actually my 1st Statham movie, so that's like a classic for me as far as fav's go I'd say mine would be: Crank 1-2, Transporter 1-3, Bank Job and Parker.

Well yeah, but I don't think Hollywood would mind. They do after all have Hugh Jackman playing a canadian.
I don't watch a lot of Statham in general. I'm more of a Schwarzenegger-fan.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-27 22:00:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but least Hugh Jackman looks like Wolverine, I can't for the life of me see Statham with a goatee.
Aaaah, Arnold def isn't doing so hot, his last two movies practically have bombed and bombed quite hard. Which is a shame, 'cause they were good movies, then again Arnie is the guy who accepted that he ain't as young as he was, Sly on the other hand seems to be dead set on proving he's still awesome and it comes off just as embarrassing.
Speaking of which, trying to think of 'nother scene with Alexis, but because I had this really good monologue in my head that goes somethin' like this: "I'm a killer and I always have been. They say once you taste blood, it changes you forever. I wouldn't know, 'cause it's been part of my diet since day one. What is worth killing for, you might ask? I wouldn't know, 'cause I never had any other choice. I have always followed orders and taking another animals life. All I can say is, it's both easy and more difficult than you have imagined..."

I dunno about that; most of the time he seems to be half-way there with his stubble. Then again, he might be too short for the part.
Yeah, he's been kind of off his game since becoming and quitting as a governor. However, I've always found him working in his own way even if the movie he is in is bad, sort of like how Leslie Nielsen is believable even in his least dignified film-apperances.
I like the monologue; it kind of reminds me of the monologue in Goodfellas. It sort of feels like something she'd tell the audience after having done something in her line of work; like executing a double-crossing employer, but sparing the employer's frightened child and wife.

I think he always had that five o'clock shadow thing and frankly if he played Kano, I doubt we'd be able to hear the dude 'cause he always has a habit of talking in a low whisper. Which is funny, 'cause if you hear him talking normally he sounds like a different person entirely XD
Oh man, you haven't seen Leslie Nielsen in Spy Hard have you? Even the most hard core Nielsen fan won't be able to defend that movie, infact I believe Nielsen himself said he was VERY embarrassed to be in it and this is the guy who was in Scary Movie 3 of all things.
Yeah, I can def see the monologue working like that, with her addressing the audience as she leaves her employers home or the other way I see is her visiting a priest and him asking why she continue such a path of death and ending lives, maybe asking if she actually feels regret for her actions.

JackOrJohn In reply to Daiskida [2016-06-28 06:21:47 +0000 UTC]
I dunno, I kind of like Spy Hard, with the exception of the ending. Compared to Repossessed it's pretty entertaining. Nothing can beat Wrongfully Accused in therms of Nielsen comedy though.
Considering that murder is a business to her, and nothing she derives pleasure from, I'd say she doesn't really regret her actions most of the time despite being a religious person. It's a sin for sure, but most of the time her targets are worse sinners than her, doing evil things knowingly and with selfish intent that puts them in her path. She on the other hand questions if it's truly evil if you lack any real feeling (minus a hint of pity for the victim's loved ones) when you assassinate someone, as opposed to actually enjoy it.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-28 09:11:38 +0000 UTC]
Really now? 'Cause some Nielsen fans I knew hate that movie with a passion of a thousand burning grills XD
While true, let's not forget that she's a criminal for hire and sometimes her job involves heists, an at that time she ends up in gun fights with the ZPD's finest. Combined with that sometimes her targets are small times who weren't really involved in anythin' big, examples being like accountants, undercover cops or people who wanted to betray a specific group and ask for police protection. So, I agree on the part of her questioning if she's evil for not feeling regret for her victims (an actually I can imagine her sending some money in an anonymous fashion to some of the family's), she might have some questions about the innocent lives she took who weren't really evil in the long run.

Daiskida In reply to JackOrJohn [2016-06-28 11:43:42 +0000 UTC]
I'd say some old Tom and Jerry cartoons, maybe Looney Tunes XD
Hmm...I'd say she would risk her job at first, but probably she'd try to mute all her feelings so she can do her job properly. I'd say her biggest flaws is the fact she tends to shut down her emotions way to often, thinking they'll get in a way of her job. During her service in the army, she pretty much had to shutdown herself whenever her comrades died or when she got news of her fathers demises. So, I think she'd try the same when she had to kill her loved one, but there would be def cracks in her "wall" like say her hand trembling a little, not being able to pull the trigger right away and eventually her just breaking down after doing her job.

That is very tragic indeed. It's like that movie Fargo: "… And for what? For a little bit of money. There's more to life than a little money you know. Don't you know that? And here you are, and it's a beautiful day... I just don't understand it."
