Description An art trade with

This is his OC Maverick Shot, a minor villain in his fanfic project. I tried to make him look a little like Stephen Lang when he played that asshole military guy from Avatar (I forget the character's name).

Sorry if the colours aren't perfect, I'd already gotten the vast majority of it done by the time you uploaded a proper reference picture, but I think I did alright.

Hope you like it, can't wait to see what you have for me.

Hey, I like it! Good work. I started the final sketch for your character earlier today, I will scan and color him right after I finish my algebra homework.

I just finished the flat coloring last night. I will do the shading and possible background this morning.

I've finished the shading this morning, I just need to add his cutie mark and something resembling a background. Is it alright if I just draw his cutie mark with the brush tool in Photoshop? Also, would you like a simple background (like the aged paper I generally use for my concept art, character and weapon designs) or would you like me to actually try to draw a scene to put him in? Because I had this idea floating around in my head earlier where he's strutting around in a city (possibly Canterlot) at night in his tuxedo...but I'm not sure I'm a good enough artist to make it come out the way I want. So I might just give it a simple texture or gradient background.

Yeah, I don't care what tools you use to draw him, it's fine. It's up to you to decide if you want to draw a background, the idea of the city sounds pretty cool, but it doesn't need to be too complex. I just made some rain clouds and light rays, so maybe you could draw him on a footpath next to a shop window or... it doesn't matter, either way I'll be happy with it.

As you can see I just used a paper texture this time around. But maybe next time I'll draw a proper background.

If you wanted to do another art trade with backgrounds, we can if you want.

Sure, I just need to think of another one of my ponies you could draw. I don't have that many OCs, because MLP fan works aren't my primary focus. However, they're really fun to do. I do have another OC, a white pegasus mare who I currently call "Vanity," even though I may change her name eventually. Originally she was an odd sort of alicorn-like creature, but I decied to make her into a pegasus to distance her from the slew of bad alicorn OCs out there, since the fandom's general opinion on OC alicorns are that they're overpowered or Mary Sue-ish.
