Day 6 - "The Raven"
(to be clear the character in question is the person holding the raven, and not the bird itself)

Despite this character having a relatively well developed storyline, I don't think I've ever posted any artwork of them on here. "The Raven" as they are called is a thief with a power allowing them to open any lock and steal anything - even intangible things like memories, skills, or abilities. This power is one that is passed down to other "Ravens" through a magical key that was owned by the first "Raven". The story I had in mind was about the 13th "Raven", shown here. The story basically just involved The Raven going about stealing stuff, often from an evil organization that controlled the world from the shadows.

The themes and character were largely influenced by one of my favorite manga called "Jing: King of Bandits ", which is likewise about a thief with a winged companion. The Raven is a rather old concept and I don't know if they'll have their own comic or story, but maybe they'll show up as a side character somewhere. I dropped the concept due to the fact that I wanted to do a lot of worldbuilding for the world that they lived in, but lacked the motivation to do so.

I decided to do a slightly more realistic style for this drawing. It took me probably the longest to make out of any of the Inktober drawings I did. But it is also one of the ones I'm most proud of. The pose is taken from the woman with the owl in the music video of "Iron" by Woodkid .
