Wow! Great shot--but I don't know what bird it is... just a note for you- it's cool you list your camera info in your comments but DA also lists them under your deviation (in the bottom right hand corner of the "Artist's Comments" box

Thank you
I’m not sure but I think that this is a juvenile red tail
I know that dA does list the exposure data but I’ve tried to include all of the additional data that people have asked for and I Like to keep the data for myself. I’ve also noticed that some of the data that dA shows is different than the data that I see when I access the meta data on the image (check the shutter speed on this image) and for some reason the exposure data is not always shown if I do post processing on the image.

Thank you Tonny
I like this one too. I was lucky that the bird let me get so close and didn’t seem to mind being photographed. I was especially lucky because my camera was having focusing issues due to a failing circuit board so only a small percentage of my shots were in focus

Your 1D-MK2 having a focus problem ? I really feel sorry for that... but still, most of your shots are all great, excellent !!

JAHarrell In reply to TonsArtClick [2009-01-30 15:33:25 +0000 UTC]

I am not sure how common this issue is with the Canon 1D MK III but here is my experience with it [link] it was in the Canon repair facility [link] and hopefully fixed. I don’t know if I would have even noticed it if not for the fact that long range telephoto photography tends to show any focusing problems to good effect. Any image that filled the frame looked great but when I cropped down the issue was obvious.

Oh I see,......never heard about that before John. I just plan to buy one (1D MK-III), or maybe I better buy Canon 5D MK-II, what do you think ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JAHarrell In reply to TonsArtClick [2009-01-30 16:40:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, when it's working properly the 1D MK III is a joy but if I was looking for a new camera today I would look very closely at the 5D MK II. Maybe a few less features but a better image at a lower price. I have not done a detailed comparision but the new 5D MK II seems the better deal.

Great,....thanks a lot for the advices. mine now is 30D and just looking to buy a new (and better one). 1Ds MK III is too expensive for me....maybe I just take 1D MK III or 5D MK II...
