Description Fan Art done for the Deviant Art contest. Also, a tribute to an amazing effort by a great cast of developers. What a fantastic game, full of wonderful acting and intense action sequences that surprised and kept me on the edge of my gaming chair. This game is one of my favorites.

So,
thanks Crystal Dynamics,
Job well done.

This ain't the usual Lara, though I'm afraid it'll become a trend, if not now.

Your vision helps understand the fears she has to overcome, as the viewer takes the place of the mystery she has to uncover, within the darkness that goes into a cave, which entrance is only lit by sunset light and the small flames from a groups of candles, placed around a skull.

It's not that unique, really. You actually seem to have taken the expression of her face from the first artwork Crystal Dynamics released and made it more bloody to show her pain. Now, that pose and the overall design are different from what most portraits have shown, but they seem to have a conflict with her face, breaking the harmony within the character, despite of them looking injured (yet not as bad as her face).

For lighthing and colour choice, you seem to have a good touch. You still need to polish them, though. The planks at the cave's entrance have very little detail in comparison to almost the whole picture, lacking texture above all. The chains and shackles hanging seem off, compared to most of the picture; they don't even seem to belong in there (like the wood planks). Lara's left hand bandage looks clean, compared to her other bandages and her outfit; they seem out of place. The rest seems well-done.

Your work is impactful. It's background and character draw attention right away. The feeling of being seen by a bloody face is unavoidable as the dangers of the sorroundings within that jungle or the mysteries within this cave, but as soon as someone starts to take some time analyzing this, the flaws I just noticed will become obvious.

Your work has a lot potential. Make it better. Make it worthy of yourself. These flaws are small, but they impact your work in ways you can tell easily. Even if the contest is over, make it better. It looks so good at first sight, but it feels so off when analyzed.
