And now I'm wondering if the taste of Frey Pie is better washed down with Arbor Gold or Dornish Red?

Hmmm....they also say vengeance is best served cold, so does that mean Frey Pie should be chilled before eating?

Lord Too-fat-to-sit-a-horse is one of my favorite characters of the books.

Hahaha, yeah he's pretty interesting. I have a question though: I know what this particular scene depicts based on what other fans have said. But even after finishing Dance With Dragons, I apparently missed where it was revealed that there are people in these pies. Is that detail just something that people figured out on their own, or did I just totally miss than when I read it?

It's not explicitly said, but it's not a fan theory either.
When Ser Davos talks with Lord Manderley, he says something to the effect that he will take revenge on the Red Wedding.
When Manderley reaches Barrowton in preparation to Ramsay's wedding, we find out that they lost the three Freys that were his guests on their way there.
Lord Manderley brings his own provitions and cook to the wedding at Winterfell, and presents the Frey and the Boltons with three meat pies at the feast.
While they eat he asks the singer to sing the Rat Cook song, which is about a man that gave a meat pie to a king, that had pieces of the king's son inside.
It took me a second reading to catch it. I recommend giving all the series a second read if you have the time, because once you know the main story, you start
noticing the little details like that that make ASoIaF so complex and interesting.

Not to mention he did it all in a way that he avoided breaking Guest-Right.
He was a total badass who rules-lawyered his way through the Game.
For that I am making Lord Wyman Manderly a honorary Player Character.

Gotcha. Yeah, I think knowing what was going before I actually read that part, I did pick up on some of the hints and clues. I was just sort of waiting for the big reveal to happen, and then it never did (at least not yet) haha.

Haha oops! I still haven't made it this far in the books yet and the brief I received didn't mention it being in Winterfell. Blooper! But anyway, thanks!

(Erg... reply mixup)
The nice thing about the Freys being the perpetrators of the Red Wedding is that there's plenty of them to go around for Freyvenge.

Cool! It's always nice to see fantasy art that's depicting something other than battles or battle ready warriors.
Really like the character's expressions and all the details.
