My very first book cover assignment from Tor Books! I don't normally do lot of ships and vehicles etc, so this was a really fun challenge and overall awesome project to work on. Many thanks to my art rep, Deborah Wolfe, and Peter Lutjen at Tor books for bringing this project to me!

A late 18th century frigate with oars (???) is chased byΒ steam-powered gunboats while they're all surrounded with krakens. Weird but I like it.

this is epic, and it reminds me of the eye spy gamesΒ i used to play on pc at my grandmothers, in one of the rooms in the treasure hunt version there was a paining in the light house, in the first room. this was ol iron sides or something and she was sinking and the crew was trying to escape, the lighting was striking the top mast and there was a terribly storm firing over deck, it was a interesting painting and i can't tell you how many countless hours i spent returning to the painting for a new quest..Β i loved that game...thank you you reminded me of that~

It hardly tells me anything beyond being fantasy/Science fiction, but even if they told me not to judge a book by their cover, this does look good no doubt.

Thanks! Yeah trying to balance everything that's happening in it was definitely a challenge, but I'm really happy with how it all came together.
