The layers that it put my brain in when I first saw it was that I was being shown the inside of a musical instrument, like a highly complex piano, through a digital method. I appreciate your explaining this to me by the way you see it. Very fascinating!

Thank you very much! it is supposed to be columns in a strange ambient (i.e. the Oneiric-Fractal Planes). In my mythology Planes are similar (but not equal) to Planes in D&D so, they can be understand as "layers of reality". The Oneiric Planes are "layers of dreams" although can be reached by trance. The Fractal Planes are Planes where 3D fractals building itself in all the extension of the Plane. Oneiric-Fractal Planes are a mix of the two of them.
From an objetive point of view, this image only depicts a fractal from a certain X, Y, Z location
