Description I started making some sketches of the dragons ofΒ How to train you dragonΒ in my own style, and ended up giving them a little color with Photoshop.

Damn these things are hideous. Who decided that it's a good idea to slap these scary-af-spiky-fang-noodles in a kids show?
Sorry I haven't uploaded for a long time, I was enjoying the summer.

I always loved this dragon from HTTYD, and you captured it perfectly! Impressive!

Making horrible things in a kid's show ?
I think it's a good idea if you know what you're doing. Take for example Spirited Away and Coraline.
But if you don't know how to handle it, don't even try since you'll destroy some psychic strength.

Scary things in kids movies and series are great! I just wanted to joke a little about the dragon's look

When I was kid, I was scared of the stone jaguar from The Road to El Dorado, but I always waited for the scene really excited.
And here in Finland we have Moomins, and it featured this thing called MΓΆrkΓΆ , and oh boy did that thing scare the f out of me. Doesn't really help that Finland got tapes with wrong color proflies and made the scene where she first appears darker than it should, atleast according to this .

You did have a terrible childhood 😁
I would like to add Fantasia 2000 (the scene with all the rats in the unileg soldier, don't know how to say it in english, and all the show with butterflies and bats) and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Somehow, music is so much important when it comes to scaring little kids...

Music makes a big difference! Moomins had really nice soundtrack, but damn some of them were scary as a kid! Like this one that played in an episode with a ghost ship that had a headless woman as a figurehead. Β

Yeah, some of the dragon designs in the book Hiccup looked through were both incredibly creative and absolutely terrifying. The Whispering Death here looks like something Michael Biehn and crew would have encountered in The Freaking Abyss.

In think that Thunderdrums and Whispering Deaths have the most terrifying designs in the book that Hiccup reads. Too big mouths with too many teeth.
In the series though, Thunderdrums were pretty cool looking if they had their mouths closed. And baby Thunderdrums are quite adorable.

There are plenty of new dragons coming, they just need a little coloring first.Β Β

Awesome. I wish we'd seen more of these in the actual movies, some of them in Hiccup's book were really interesting
