Description This image is a commision I painted for the book Magical Creatures, written by Jim Pipe, published by Carlton Media Publishing 2012.

The brief for this image was underground dwarves being busy digging out treasures from the earth!

Along with several other artists I created illustrations showcasing various fantastic creatures. Now the book is out, I can finally showcase the work. :0)

Have you painted all the rocks by hand or is this a some kind of brush set ?

Yeah, they are handpainted. I am a patient man! - and I have a background from traditional painting, so I am still learning my way around brushes. I think it is hard to find the balance to speed up the process with advanced brushes and still keep it personal. Still learning ;0)
