Description
For this week's personal project, I decided to take up on a challenge issues by my good friend Corner Engy. This challenge in question involved a board game of which we are both big fans of, "Scythe ".
This week I decided to focus on doing a piece all in one layer. With the exception of the sketch, which I kept on a separate layer just in case I got lost, the entire piece was done in a single layer, with many uses of the selection tool, magic wand to separate sections, and changing the type of fusion of my brush for the light effects, and to darken certain areas. It felt really freeing, simple, and enjoyable, almost like making a traditional painting on a canvas with acrylics. I might repeat the experience in the future, as it was a very enjoyable one.
If you guys haven't played Scythe, I highly recommend it, it's my favourite board game and haven't really had a chance to draw anything about it in any detailed fashion. This piece in question is focused on the leader of the Crimea faction, and as it is I decided to combine the leader and her animal companion into one. So here's the end result, a combination of Zehra and her pet hawk Kar. She doesn't have a name, but you guys can give her one if you so wish.
Please, let me know what you think of it in the comments. I appreciate each and every single one I receive.
