Description Buston Links, Alnmouth, Northumberland
Something a bit different from me, taken last weekend high up on a sand dune, it was really windy, nearly couldn't keep my filters on the camera!

The blocks on the beach are tank traps put there in 1940s when there was worry that Alnmouth would be used as a landing point by the Germans!

edit : removed tyre tracks, they've been bugging me for ages!

I love a photo with a little history behind the scene/landscape. You've pulled this off fantastically, the perspective you get from up there is just breath taking, then your exposure and composition are spot on. I want this to get a DD!

Cheers Drew, i like a photo to have a story to it too, a lot of beaches up here have tank traps on them! My only concern with this shot is the mess in the sand from the tyre tracks, kinda ruins it for me Thanks for faving this!

Yeah, those tyre tracks are a little distracting on what looks like such a spectacular wilderness beach, damn humans haha

I'll have to go back before any more damn humans get themselves on there and ruin the perfect sand

Taken from a great vantage point. The tank traps look tiny. It looks like someone's been playing with a giant Spirograph on the sand!

Thanks Susan, i love this beach, i go here quite often but i'd never climbed to the top of the highest dune, its brilliant up there, especially when its windy and the sea is a bit rough I think somebody had been riding about on a quad or something, there was just loads of rings, must of been fun Cheers for the fav!

Nice shot! Looks like a spitting sand kind of day. I've had a few myself on the IOW.

Thanks Kris, I visited Brighton when i was younger, the beaches were different, i quite liked them, all those thousands of little pebbles but i think i'd miss the varied coastline we have up here! Cheers for the fav!

Its a bit of a drive all the way down there, but i'll add it to my virtual list of place to visit, that abandoned pier sounds good tho, i've seen some fantastic photos with it in!
