i just showed my daughter (11) "climbing a fractal" which she liked very much... when she saw the background she said it looked a bit creepy to her... i told her that some of the fractal works can be quite frightening and opened up this one... she also likes this one and said: "look, there are fallen down parachutes!" hey, she's right, did you see them?

Of course, Diet! But these "parachutes" were meant as some sort of dying trees....Β Β Β Β Β Β

Reminiscent of Monument Valley, only if it was in a grassland environment.

Gorgeous! Reminds me of a natural karst formation! They can be found in southern Thailand, China, Vietnam and other places I think! [link] .

Oh yes, I lived next to them for a couple of years, while in Thailand. Depending on the amount of rain, trees and other vegetation were always varying in and on the local karsts. In Asia, they are full eco-systems, filled with living creatures especially the type of swift that use their spit to make the nests used in bird's nest soup. These have been collected for millenia.
The mountains themselves, being of limestone are especially porous and prone to a changing array of stalagmites and stalagtites as well as lagoons, caves and 'hongs' (limestone rooms that appear and disappear with the tides.
I hope you have a chance to visit some in person. Somehow these formations are different from any other mountains I've seen. Krabi Province in Thailand is where I lived and is simply covered with them, on land and in the sea.
