What was Kali the goddess of? I know shes from the hindi mythology I've seen her in supernatural.(which depicted Ganesh to be violent, which I thought he wasn't)

She is the the Goddess of Time, Change, Creation, Preservation, Destruction, and Empowerment, as well as the slayer of demons and illusions.
Ganesh is usually quite peaceful.

My thoughts have been commented already, this Kali is perfect for a comic book cover. Take it up to a new level, a revised Kali would have darker skin, more unkempt hair, crazier/wild/drunk expression, her left side symbols of horror, then her right side granting boons, surrounded by corpse/zombies....

If I had been doing this for me only it would have been more that way, but it started out as a commission for someone else, so went in this direction instead. I'm more likely to paint Durga than re-visit Kali in this way again.
