Description Originally I started working on her to enter a guardian angel contest, but didn't get her finished in time to send her in.

She is cotton fabric, stuffed and with a wire armature which makes her arms pose-able. She is peyote stitch beaded up to the knees on both legs. Her body, neck and head are all beaded with regular bead embrodery stitches. I've wrapped soft eyelash yarn around her thighs and her shoulders. Her face is polymer clay with mica powders.
Her hair is black chenille yarn. I used two different feather trims to make her wings.

If she stood straight up she would be about 15" tall.

She took about two months to come into being.

Hi ! you have been chosen by one of my ODD Account watchers to be in the spotlight !

Today's theme is dedicated entirely to the masses as they have sent me O.D.D. suggestions to feature.
ODDS (oibyrd's daily deviations) are to honor the sometimes overlooked artists of dA that I personally think deserve some exposure and also, to introduce the more popular artists to the new/overlooked deviants. I prefer to showcase ALL artwork that I love (and that includes popular artists) in order to create a non-biased feature of the talent on dA Please click the link below to see your work featured and to view other featured artists . If you prefer not to be a featured artist, just send me a note and I will remove you from the list. Cheers! Sandi xoxo

she's wonderful, i love how her pose almost looks threatening, certainly very active, and her face is so serene. it gives her such a great feel of power. (and those feathers are really nice too of course! )

I really like the beading on her body. It sort of looks like scales or chainmail.

That's awesomely beautiful! Did you just sew over the end of the feathers to hold them on? Would that hold them on well enough? I'm just wondering because I'e never tried sewing feathers onto anything, seems kind of not easy.
