Hi all!With the release of the new Blood Angels just around the corner, I was inspired to make yet another Captain for my upcoming Blood Angel army for Warhammer 40K.
This here is my 'original character', First Captain Angelus Caim, Legionnaire Astartes of the Blood Angels. Master of the First. Archangel of the Sanguinary Guard.
I basically decided to try to make him as ornate as possible. This model was created using the Chaos Terminator Lord boxed set as the 'base'.
- Filed/sliced off the Chaosy arrows
- Filed/sliced off all Chaos icons
- Used purity seals to cover up shoddy filing/slicing. (As usual.
)- Used the Space Marine Terminator chest plate instead of the Chaos one.
- Used the dual lightning claws from the Chaos Lord box. (The Chaos lightning claws look alot more ornate, don't you think?
)- Pauldrons are from the Warmachine Protectorate of Menoth Bastions. Just did some slicing, greenstuffing and pinning to the arms.
- 'Modified ' a regular Terminator helmet to make it look like the one used by Grey Knight Terminators. (Surprisingly easy to do!)
This is by no means done yet! I'll be waiting for the new Sanguinary Guard box to see if there is anything fancy to further 'bling' him up! Only then will he be done for painting!
So far, very happy with the result!

nice to see it's actually possibly, I myself am working on the captain of the first company for my space marine chapter using the chaos termie lord as base, the legs are giving me no end of trouble T_T

Haha, yeah I totally agree... Filing off the Chaosy icons and stuff gave me a headache.

This is a very cool conversion. I think he looks a little more Grey Knight like more than Blood Angel but then with Space Marines it is really just the colour of their armour that makes the difference. Awesome job.

Heh, probably because of the helmet... But then again, pre-heresy Terminator helmets look like this.
I did the helmet like this to represent how ancient his armour is.

True enough on the helm being Pre-Heresy looking as well. I think it was the combination of the helmet and those wicked looking shoulders that started me thinking it was Grey Knight looking or perhaps an Inquisitor. Looks great none-the-less. Where did you get those shoulders from anyway?

looks cool but the skull and wings on his back i would take it off and use something from the blood angel box set when it comes out like a banner or something all in all it a great model[link]

Ah, I was thinking of that too! That's why it's still tentatively in the building stage. I'm waiting for the new BA stuff to see if there are parts I can use to make it more 'Blood Angel'.
