Hi All!Here's my Commissar Lord (Lady?) for my Imperial Guard army!
Success!!! 1st time painting eyes! And I got it right!
Main model is from Reaper Miniatures.
Filed down the top of the head and added a peaked cap from my bitz. Also added the holstered laspistol and a chainsword to get a more 40k feel.
Very satisfied with the result and had a lot of fun painting her!

With the right Commissar, the Troops could be motivated to do anything even storm an enemy encampment with heavy resistance.

I love the job you did with this, I've been wanting to do the same with the same model. How did you make the hat? I've been trying to find a tutorial online but haven't had much luck.

She looks cute and it is a good conversion. However I dislike her being too... nude. Commissars are supposed to be fearsome individuals, not attractive ladies. A lady commissar (not to mention how rare these are since most of the scholam girls joint the ranks of Sisters of battle) would certainly be dressed in a less provocative way if you see what I mean. Besides that, the miniature looks great and your painting skills are good. If you only put more clothes and less lipstick on her, the model would be perfect in my eyes.
I myself have a female commissar and went through lot of troubles to find a female miniature that would not only look like a commissar, but also was not too nude (especially with covered clevage ) for someone of that rank. Hell not even regular soldiers could be dressed like this.

Nice, I like this one, there are a couple of Reaper mini's that just about fit with 40K, I'm planning on getting this one as it fits perfectly with my idea of a lady Rogue Trader. The male one also.

I cannot remember the exact name for the model. What I do remember is that it's from Reaper's Chronoscape series.

Found it! The name of the model was actually in one of the previous comments, Sascha Dubois, time chaser.
I genereally don't much care for reaper minis because I find them too cartoony and bulky, not to mention disproportionate, but
this is actually one of the few reaper minis I like. Shame she has a bare midriff, but what can you do. Thanks!
Great idea, great conversion! Eyes came out very well for a first time. With my first army I just used to pretend they all had their eyes closed when the picture was taken. These days however, eyes are my favourite part to paint. Never tried a female model before though. I expect I'll have to use softer, more muted colours.

I'd had an idea for making a Lady Commissar of my own, since I hated the 1997 limited edition miniature that Games Workshop made (and didn't feel like shelling out $20+ for it), and tonight, I bought the Sascha Dubois, Time Chaser miniature from Reaper Minis.
For the heck of it, I then did a search on DeviantART for "Lady Commissar," wanting to see how other people painted or drew their own versions. This was one of the first results that came up - the exact same miniature I just bought. It appears that you beat me to the punch, good sir, by nearly a year. The miniature is neatly-done, and looking at your gallery, you've certainly improved in the meantime.

Yeah true, I really should water my paints down. I do tend to get lazy sometimes and just paint straight from the bottle...
