I took this about ten minutes ago on my back porch..That's Oklahoma, for you. We're getting some really bad storms tonight, but the lightning is amazing.

These plains storms ain't no joke! I'll NEVER forget that freak of a lightning storm we had about a year ago! OMG, it did what you see here continuously for hours! Looked like the end of the world up there! Lightning was even coming rom the ground and going up!

My mom looked out the window and saw a funnel forming right over the ridge of houses in the Meadows. LOL, she almost had a heart attack.

are thunderstorms like this common in oklahoma? i mean, it either was a very, very bad thunderstorm, or you had to try many times to catch it like that. or both. or something i didn't think of.

Yeah, they're very common actually. Especially now that it's tornado season. This storm wasn't very bad in comparison to ones we've had in the past.
