"Other cards in the Shadow Tarot warn of unhealthy enslavement, of submission out of necessity, of chains and strings that are not a positive thing. This is the opposite - for once submission is not only a valuable experience but likely a pleasure, if you enter into it whole-heartedly. The Slave pictured here has chosen to serve her Mistress, not out of fear or shame, certainly not due to trickery. Instead she serves because to belong to her owner is a joy, and she delights in each chance to obey a command, each small reminder that she is indeed owned.

"For many people the concept of willing submission is a difficult one to grasp. Often this is because they are thinking of nonconsentual submission, of masochism, of the caricature Dom waving a whip and hollering out orders, or of slaves in countries where such practice is legal still. Now is the time to discover what the kinky few already know: that submission can be safety, comfort, pleasure, even bliss... and that often even if we don't use that term for it, we submit to those we love every day. Open your eyes, and step willingly into the Slave's role. You will likely find it intense and life-changing, in the best of ways."

...oh, come on, you knew this card was coming. *wry grin* I think I need to rewrite the description slightly, but all in all it's about what I'd intended to produce for this particular idea. Incidentally, I hadn't planned to do this one yet, but between talking with Torian, reading this poem , watching Caleb wander about the apartment in practically nothing, and a few other less-civilized thoughts... yeah. I tried to get to sleep again (I've already tried and failed several times tonight) but this just insisted it Had To Be Done Now OMG! So, here it is.
