Oh god I am melting on my chair. This is so sweet. You managed to make Kitty look even cuter than she already is ... and that's quiet a feat! And I love how you draw Ben : a big pile of rock all mushy and fluffy inside ^^ Is this already colored? Cuz I want to do it. I'm struggling with digital coloring and this could be a good exercise. Maybe I should ask the guy who commissioned this too ...
Well anyway, I'll say it : D'AAAAWWWWWWWW XD

Thanks! And if you want to color it, go ahead! Just give me credit for the original line art!

Well, since they're apparently Marvel's only Jewish superheroes, it's a good thing they're both awesome.

It seems like comic companies only give superheroes religion when it's convenient for one isolated story. It hardly seems worth mentioning a character's beliefs if they're not going to continuously explore them. Just wasted details.

Sometimes they explore it; I remember one time, after Magneto turned into a good guy, he and Kitty were at this meeting for Holocaust survivors; course it was mostly there to get Magneto in a place where the villains could attack him, but an occasional peek like that helps. In my humble opinion.

Also, Ben's one of my favorite super-heroes, with Plastic Man and Captain Marvel, and of course Squirrel Girl.

You're absolutely right about Magneto. I'd dare say he's the only character whose religion shapes his identity, origin and purpose.

Cute take on the two, Jay!

Jay, I LOVE THIS! You did a great job with Ben -- rock pattern and all! -- and Kitty is cute as a button!

Fantastic work, Jay! Thanks so much for doing these!

It must've been hard to draw the thing's rocky detail

Ha! It certainly was! And I'm still not entirely satisfied with how the rock patterns turned out!

Oh wow, Jay. I don't know if it's because I haven't seen you draw him in a while, but Ben looks great! Seriously, he's perfect. And that Kitty's quite the catch too.

Thanks, Evan! It felt pretty natural drawing Ben--his look fits my design sensibilities to a T. I wish more people would ask me to draw these kinds of big, lumbering characters. They're always a blast to do!

Actually, Piotr sacrificed his life in a fight with the Sentinels, to make sure Ben and Kitty lived. (at least that's what happened in my story.) ^_^

I admit, I just don't like how they tossed out all the years Kitty spent growing up and getting over Peter (after he "died" in Dallas fighting the Adversary), moving on and trying to find her own way in the world... only to get thrown back together with the metal-lunk just because one of the editors said "She was supposed to be with Colossus!" and made it that way.

It just seems the writers and editors over at Marvel are just spitting on all the decades of story development and back history and going "F@$^ It! We'll do what we want even if the fans don't like it!"
