I like how you put in Aurra Sing she's a beastly bounty hunter. Also the monkey-lizard kissing the Twi'lek slavegirl is pretty hilarious (I wish I remembered her name *sigh*). C3PO's expression made me laugh.

Love 'em all! Leia is terminally cute in the bounty hunter getup and the Luke and Yoda one is dead on! Fantastic work, I'd so love to see an animated Star Wars based on this!

I still have my Obi Wan Kenobi Tankard from 1977. My daughter inherited (swiped) my "Revenge of the Jedi" T-shirt though.

Holy crap! You had an actual Revenge of the Jedi shirt? That had to be a collectable! I still have all my old Star Wars action figures. But they make them so much closer to what they looked like in the movies these days than they did thirty years ago!

JillianNC In reply to JayFosgitt [2010-01-11 04:01:40 +0000 UTC]
Yep. My daughter wore it when we went to see The Phantom Menace and freaked a couple of fanboys out! I do have a full set of the original figures that I got at a blind auction at a con. They're put away. The Tankard is very special though. My mom gave it to me for Christmas 1977, and I think it may have been the among the first official Star Wars items available. I still have a re-release poster for The Empire Strikes Back with a banner across the bottom reading "Coming soon: Revenge of the Jedi". I'm holding on to that. That and my Empire Strikes Back paperback signed by Al Williamson.

I had a copy of the Marvel adaptation of Empire, also autographed by Williamson, but sadly that's long gone. Sigh...

Oh no. What it is is that I agree to draw 100 cards for them, and they give me an additional six blanks to draw on as well. I then choose which six out of the 106 cards I want to keep, and that's part of my payment. The remaining 100 are sent to Topps. I have no idea how many of the 100 they'll approve. Hopefully all of 'em, but who knows?

I was fortunate to have Katie Cook (veteran Star Wars sketch card artist) close at hand to walk me through my first Star Wars sketch card experience, and she helped pick out the six she thought would be the most popular among fans (ex: Luke and Yoda are a classic image, Slave Leia is a popular request, Aurra Sing covers the booby pin-up girl selection that's so popular, etc...). I've already had a bunch of people send me requests to buy my return cards, which is awesome, because I want to put the money towards attending C2E2 in Chicago (which ironically sounds like a Droid). But the idea of letting these cards go is kinda hard too, since I'm emotionally attached. Stupid, I know.
I draw pretty much exclusively with Faber Castell Pitt artist pens. I drew my cards with a combination of the brush tip, small tip, fine tip, medium tip, and a Micron .02 for the smallest features.

Not terribly expensive. Three bucks per pen, twelve if you buy a pack.
