Note: This is based on one of my favorite characters from my former RP time. The original text included German idioms and sayings, I did my best to translate it and retain the old meaning and writing style... Although I'm not quite sure if it suits as a personality description. Feel free to correct any of my mistakes or point out if something doesn't make sense.

Nobody reckoned on her.
Alathaia showed them all. She understands that fate is too serious to leave it up to coincidence. She learned from everyones mistakes and made only few of her own.
          >>Ever tried, ever failed, no matter. Try again, fail again, fail better!<<
She had a tremendous self-confidence, doubts only encouraged her. Again and again she demonstrated how to surpass oneself.
          >>I do because I can, I can because I want to, and want to because you think I could not!<<
It works. She observes, behold, sees a lot of what is happening within the herd, she deduces, understands and calculates. She has a strong will and incredible strength, as long as she has a clear goal in sight... nothing and no one can hold her back. She needs the challenge, it’s her lifeblood - and she always searches for a new one.
But what was the price to pay?
What happens if there is nothing more to reach for?
It destroys her.
So she goes out in search of something to live for, as long as life is too valuable for death.

Soon she craves for the day back when she was still a nobody. She lived in the past, because she was terrified of the future, but everything she talks about is the present.
The one who wears a mask cannot expect others to see the tears. She remains a mystery for the others and conceals her emotions and thoughts.
          >>I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not.<<
She never sees herself like others do. It’s never about fame. She only wants to show that she can do better than the best. Alathaia is unbelievable idealistic. If there is something she has taken into her head, then she cuts her own path till the end and there is no way to dissuade her from doing so.
          >>But where there is light, there is also darkness.<<
It has always been all about the way, not the goal. Where there is a will, there is a way. Never she lost a second thought about what would happen at the end of the path.
          >>Harder, better, faster, stronger.<<
She anticipated that at the point where she thought to be something, finally had stop to become something better. But hadn’t she sworn to herself to never reach this point?
After all it was she on her own who had broken herself, is it possible to tape her back together?
Maybe she has lost herself - but she never gave up.
And something you don’t give up is never completely lost you only have to find it again.

The knowing know that he has to trust.

HISTORY
Over the course of years they gave me a lot of names. Some of them more suitable than others, but there is one thing they all had in common: not a single one felt like it belonged to me.
I call myself Alathaia, but that's not the name that my mother gave to me. It is questionable, whether Morwenna gave me a name at all... Morwenna. Morwenna means maiden or white seas. Of course her name has a double meaning, one referring to the water and its magic and one referring to a character trait.
My mother doesn't partake of anything maiden-like, I'd rather go so far to say that she's the exact opposite. I wasn't Morwenna’s first fawn, and hardly her last. Nobody knows how many she already had, I assume neither does she.
I don't remember much of her. The few memories I have are blurry and incomplete, the memories of a fawn. Often I don't know what is truth and what I figured out over time - or invented. I remember that she was sometimes very sad,, even if she tried to hide it from me. Now I think to know why she was so sad, and it is relieving to think that she had still a conscience after all, even if she is mad.
I don't know my father, it's possible that I met him on my journey through the tunnels without recognizing him. Maybe I have siblings... if these are still alive.
My mother is possessed by magic. She always was an extraordinary witch, but she was driven by the idea to be the first in a long bloodline of powerful magicians. Mighty magicians, something unprecedented.
A lot is based on magic, here, in the shadow of the caves... it's an unwritten law that the king is a powerful magician, that is well-known to everybody. Maybe she wanted a son to be the next in this position and got me instead? Nobody knows exactly about her motives. She lives alone, isolated, it took me years to collect the few things I know about her.
I think she can feel if anyone around her uses magic. My mother thought, that a strong magician can be spotted in the youth. So she waited, but never more than two years. She expected a lot of her fawns and who wasn't able to measure up to her high expectations was abandoned, most likely in a „death proof“ situation.
Like me, but incredibly I survived - and ironically because of the exact opposite of my death sentence: by displaying magic skills. Magic skills that almost killed me though saving my life. Since then they were the only constant in my life. Probably I'll never know if I became what my mother wanted me to be right from the beginning, but the thing is – I really don't care, I do what I want to, free to be the one I want to be.
