Not much to say about this, except that some puns are just too perfect to ignore.
EDIT: Okay, so apparently, there is more for me to say about this, because nobody gets the pun. In Greek mythology, the "apple of discord" is what Eris, goddess of envy, gave to Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite to get them arguing amongst each other. It's become a trope in its own right tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php⦠, and MLP even satirized it in the unforgettable "Lesson Zero" ("I really like her...mane?"). I just spoofed it even further by illustrating it literally - Discord with an apple. As for why AJ and her sibs are glaring at him, that's up to you. Maybe they're keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't pull any reality-warping shenanigans; maybe he just took it without asking permission and they're a little PO'ed about it. Either way, I think it works.

How can anyone not get the pun in the title? I mean it is classic, (literally).
I agree that to ignore a pun of this magnitude would be a horrible waste. The picture is also quite clear on what it illustrates without any real need for explanation.

This is competently done, but I don't really like this pic, for several reasons.
The pun isn't really a pun... it's a reference, and I would have at least expected it to be a golden apple, since the original was golden. I think many people don't get it, because this image barely scrapes the myth in similarity. But even if it's not supposed to invoke the actual myth, I'd say this image is far too static for its own good.
Even if the Apple family continued standing there calmly, rather than fighting over the apples as per the goddesses in the myth/Lesson Zero, and Discord laughing his head off, I'd expect Discord to be floating by the tree he picked it from, or otherwise in a more interesting pose, like on the fence or something. I suppose the point might be that he's mostly innocent, for once, but that doesn't mean he'd stop being his usual strange self. Yes, he has just stood around or sat around, even in the show, but that's part of an extended story, where-as a single frame should be more intriguing.
Sorry, I don't mean to be super negative, it's just that I can see this concept having a lot of potential. Maybe you could do a second version sometime?

Yeah, I'm aware that this one fell flat on its face. I didn't know the characters well enough when I drew this one, and it just confused everybody. I'm waiting until after I've seen the entire series to do any more MLP fan art, so maybe then I'll attempt a revised version that actually makes sense.
