Description BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!  .........Weren't expecting that, were ya?  Anyways, I kinda missed the opportunity to make a Halloween themed drawing last year, and in 2014 I drew Zero (as in the one from Kirby's Dream Land 3).  Only makes sense that I follow up by drawing its undead form, Zero Two!  I don't think I need to do any explaining on THIS thing; Zero Two is [arguably] THE most popular villain in the Kirby series, and there are probably hundreds of other drawings featuring the leader of the Dark Matter, so I'm just adding to that number I guess.  Quick note though; there is no known official art of Zero Two, just the end credits painting Adeleine drew.  If her interpretation is correct, the red parts of Zero Two's wings are made up of what appears to be possibly billions of blood vessels that substitute feathers.  ......Eeeeeeegh, as if the monstrosity wasn't gory enough!  And I make it worse by adding more detail to the wound the bandage is covering (look closely and you'll see I even added veins).  For those of you who don't know, that's where Zero Two's first eye popped out when it last battled Kirby.  And that halo is obviously a lie; yeah, it signifies Zero Two is technically an undead entity, but it's also a symbolization of it being a "fallen angel".  ............This thing is f'ed up.  And it's in Kirby, of all things!  Anyways, happy Halloween!

Zero Two is owned by Nintendo/HAL Laboratory, Inc.

Interesting take on the wings! They look like some sort of spider web, definitely creepier than the in-game version!

Yeah, I noticed there was no official art for Zero Two, and I'm sure the in-game look doesn't quite express in full how they wanted it to appear (well, when it comes to the wings anyway).

I'm glad you like it!

Wait... This is from Kirby Dreamland 3? ._.

Weird.. I didn't see him in the game! If he does, then I'm spoiled!

Nope, Zero Two is in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards; it's original form is in Kirby's Dream Land 3, which was directly before Kirby 64.  It's the true final boss that you can only fight by gathering all of the Crystal Shards (in Kirby's Dream Land 3, you're collecting Heart Stars).  Zero/Zero Two's not exactly optional though; you get the bad ending if you don't collect all of them, so if you truly want to beat the game and get the true ending, you'll have to find all of the key items and take it down!

Sorry that the drawing spoiled the game for you...

You think this is messed up?

Marx Soul, Ster Drem, Possessed Dedede.

'nuff said.

JBX9001 In reply to Syweb2 [2016-11-02 03:40:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...  Marx Soul does have the piercing death scream, and possessed Dedede does have those creepy attacks where an eye or set of jaws form on his stomach, but I still think Zero Two is worse.  Apparently it possessed the Ripple Star Queen earlier, so I'd hate to see how it'd attack using her body.

As for Star Dream, it's not "OMG WTF?! scary", but it is definitely threatening and the fact that it deteriorated President Haltmann's memories so that he wouldn't recognize Susie as his daughter, convinced him to invade and conquer other planets, and in the end used him as a host and deleted his very existence is pretty darn disturbing!

Zero Two never induced Body Horror, he only bled from his eye a little and possessed some fairy.
Zero had its eye ripped out of its socket and attacked you with blood, and Marx invaded for shits'n'giggles.

Zero Two is Zero; it's an undead version of it.  As for Marx, I think he was already living on Pop Star.  He just decided he wanted to control it one day, so he manipulated Kirby into doing the hard work for him.

Ah, the dark matter trilogy. Making me go "KILL IT WITH FIRE" at a Kirby game ( not so much with dreamland 2 though)

Ironically, only the final weapon from each game would've worked; nothing else hurts the Dark Matter...  But I get your point; these things are horrific!!

How convenient. I have a Halloween pic with a character showing more skin and your drawing has blood.   What happened to us! XD

All jokes aside, great pic dude!

It's da curse of Halloween!!   Eh, not really...  I actually wanted to draw the boss battle with Zero Two in action, but then it would've taken too long to make the October 31st [self-imposed] deadline.  Another time, I guess...

But thank you dude!  I appreciate it!

Same, the music in Ripple Star's second stage is pretty disturbing too!  Even worse, you hear it inevitably once you reach the stage; Zero Two is somewhat hidden from the little ones since you have to collect all of the Crystal Shards to fight him.

Dededeman7 [2016-11-01 02:33:32 +0000 UTC]

02 is indeed the best known Kirby villain, which is a little surprising as it is from a game that came out when the internet wasn't a big thing quite yet.

JBX9001 In reply to Dededeman7 [2016-11-01 04:39:02 +0000 UTC]

True, which probably explains the big boom of fan art it got during the late 2000's!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dededeman7 In reply to JBX9001 [2016-11-03 17:35:07 +0000 UTC]

Indeed and it still gets a lot of fan art to this day too. It's a very well known Kirby villain despite it only appearing in one game and not having many mentions or cameos.

JBX9001 In reply to Dededeman7 [2016-11-04 13:49:03 +0000 UTC]

Well technically, it's been in two games, and we know it existed during Kirby's Dream Land 2.  So I guess that makes three?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dededeman7 In reply to JBX9001 [2016-11-04 16:11:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that would technically make 3. Then there is also the people who do Kirby fan comics and they usually have their own incarnation of the Dark Matter leader.

Dededeman7 In reply to JBX9001 [2016-11-04 16:49:29 +0000 UTC]

I have a incarnation of 0/02 for my Kirby fan comic series as well, though I portray him much differently as he is portrayed as a Dark Matter dragon, called a Dracomatter in the universe of the K: BTS series. He still has his orb form, but he is much more vulnerable in this form as when he is in his Dracomatter form, he has tough scales that cover his body that act like a suit of armor.

I also gave a reason why he is white and red, as he is a albino in the series.
