When I started on my bike at 5.25 yesterday morning in the direction of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands, I only knew that there was a promise of morning fog. How would it turn out?Well, roughly an half hour later I knew: there was just a little bit of it. Yes, it seemed disappointing at first.
But then the sun came out and enchanted the morning scene! And that little bit of mist turned into part of a miracle world! So it had been worth it after all to push myself to go out so early on my bike.

Ach, ik heb soms van die ochtenden op die ik niet goed kan slapen. Dan is het het beste om gewoon op te staan en van de ochtend te genieten. Het is het beste licht van de dag!
De foto is niet bewerkt. Het is het originele licht van de vroege zon. Het tegenlicht zorgt vanzelf voor de donkere bomen. Je moet wel wat onderbelichten.

Ik moet helaas altijd de wekker zetten om vroeg uit bed te zijn, ben een enorme slaperd

Thank you very much indeed. Yes, this one is one of my real stars! I was such a lucky guy to be there just under these perfect conditions and could capture the scene in this way. They speak of "once in a lifetime shots". Still I keep trying ...

I think it is less a matter of waiting patiently than of going out again and again whenever the circumstances seem good and go to the right places. After all I am pretty impatient. For example I hate to use a tripod, as it just hinders me and slows me down.
