I feel like Batou is the only one Motoko/Major would allow to hold her "parts" given how many times he covers (for) her.
To Motoko, she dissociates her body from her mind, to her the body is like a suit she wears. To Batou, it doesn't matter if she's a cyborg or a human, everyone is a living person.
I always liked Batou because he is such a relief to the serious story, he likes animals, he treats AI like people, he tries to joke and keep a light heart about the situation etc. Motoko might be the future of what everyone might become, aka immortal full cyborgs, but Batou's views and personality is what we must adopt to keep our humanity. This is why they have such good chemistry, they complete each other.
