yeh you are right, the eye looks horrible. This is actually my first drawing with a tablet, and i didn't really lineart for this drawing, but it turned out pretty well for some reason (this is also why there is more blending in this drawing than my other ones.) I am really thankful for all of your careful observations. Ears are one of my big weakness, i dont really know how to draw them...

im still not sure if i should do linearts, with seperate layer for everything, or just have 2 layers : 1 for color, 1 for out line, base for sketch

i only had 2 layers for this one..

im also still not sure about the differences between each feature, when i should use pen vs paint brush

im also not sure how to crop

for the paint brush, i don't quite understand how exactly the color blends...

for lineart, i ussually only have 2 or 3, also. 1 for outline, 1 for color. and if theres a sketch one for that one too.

pen is more so for sketching or outlining things if you have a tablet. when a paintbrush is more so for coloring. (but im more of an airbrush user^^)
and each instrument has different effects when you click on the arrow box right below 'Density.'

whenever you crop, transform, or anything else like that, you need to select an area first or sai wont let you do it.

if you havent noticed, when you paint with the paintbrush, what ever color you put you mouse on when you start painting on the picture, the brush will slightly have that color for a little.. sorry its kinda hard to explain.. maybe if you watch some speedpaint on youtube, you'll figure it out more. thats how i learned some(:

a lot of speedpaints on youtube aims for the cleaner, neat kind of art, and it seems like a lot of them don't even use the paint brush tool

i even saw some who just use blur tool and pen tool for the whole thing, which i think isn't always the best idea (blur doesn't seem to achieve the full potential like adding different colors do..

anyways, i do like several artist on youtube, and im still lookin for more
i guess what i need, like everyone, is experience

I drew this on paint tool SAI
I was experimenting with colors (how sunset changes the colors for the whole picture, darker and more yellow in tone)
In that sense, I think i did okay, could still improve though
im glad you liked it

I like animes that i watch in my childhood, so i decided to draw pikachu.
I wasn't really trying to draw satoshi/ash though, but i guess it could still be him.

to be honest, this picture is the first one that i got comment/featured on

it just motivates so much more to devote into art!

i never ever dared to think that i am good enough to make tutorials

this was made from hours of trial and error so i feel like my tutorial will look pretty aweful since i actually dont even know what exactly to do half the time.

i will also need to look into the recording programs, i never had those experience..

i'm a guy, and drawing is my hobby, it's a little touch to devote my time
