Description Eöl, lord of Nan Elmoth. Dark elf, husband of Aredhel and father of Maeglin. He hated Noldor elves, and that hate lead him to his execution by Turgon, Aredhel's brother. Not a very important character of the Silmarilion, but interesting.

Eöl was an accomplished smith and craftsman, so I'm glad you gave him that 'Galvorn' armour. He doesn't look very elvish, though, and I don't believe that he raped Aredhel, anyway (badmouthing from the Noldor, for sure). It would be so much out of character for Elves. He shunned sunlight because sun and moon were set into the sky at the beginning of the First Age, when Elves had been around for a long time already and were perfectly happy with starlight; in Middle-earth, at least. I think that Aredhel went to look for him because she wanted to find out whether he was as good as Féanor and, well, she stayed with him.

Well, for me, Eöl is one of the most fascinating elves that Tolkien created. And I agree with you. I don't think he was bad per se. He loved starlight because starlight is the first legacy of Valinor. The Noldor (and Feanor) where the prime dissension focus in Valinor and Middle-Earth. Eöl's possible evil wasn't worst than Feanor's, and of course Aedhel kept with Eöl because she wanted. Maybe the hate of Feanor towards him blackenned Eöl's heart.
By the way, I love this comments So thank you very much!

Wow, that is really good. I love how you can see the intelligence in his eyes, a deep cunning. Bravo! Very good.

Once again, you totally nailed the expression... I love how the rest of him, and the background, is appropriately dark but there's a light that hits his face just so to highlight the brow and eye, and what an eye it is. Something about the lower lid -- it looks like he's giving the viewer the stink-eye. Not a super happy camper, was he? I so love his armor and the way the light hits it -- wonderful shading! Where did you get the idea for the armor design? It's at once lovely and fierce, and there is a touch of wickedness in the shoulder armor. The shoulder part reminds me a bit of Sauron's armor in the movies. Perhaps spelling out his tendency to force his will upon others? (I know, I'm reading too much into this, but it's fun.)

I'm so glad you liked it, and that you see all those things. For the armor I based on the Rivendell's elven armors.
