I love this flower! It's like a golden explosion and (IMO) contrasts beautifully with the green background.Your comments are appreciated as always

Here goes my first critique (found from the November critique thread):
I really like this photo. The contrast of the warm yellow flower against the dark green background is lovely. I also enjoy some of the shadows for extra contrast on the flower. But the warm yellow is very relaxing as you can almost feel the suns warmth as the flower does.
However, the composition is not my taste - I would've enjoyed seeing more of the flower and not have the lower portion cutoff for a more complete photo. I only mark originality lower as there are many photos of flowers.

I LOVE yellow, but this flower is unknown to me. Is it what is called a straw flower? Great depth of field, so harmonic!

As for the type of flower... I honestly can't say! I should have looked at the tag (I get most of my flower shot from nurseries haha)

I think I'm getting into this flower-quiz-thing - though this one is easy: most likely a form of Xerochrysum bracteatum - they're well known for being easy to dry.
