Every picture/painting has a story to tell, I can clearly come up with a story for this one. Through all the fighting that the Faraam knight has gone through, somehow, some way, he was able to stay sane and not go hallow. Now, a previous elite knight spirit watches over the tired knight, making sure that he will not be touched by darkness. For the knight's spirit will not forgive itself if it sees the current knight turn into Artorias, who lost his battle against the darkness of the abyss.
