Description This is the first of a series of images in my 'The Stuff of Legend' series. It will be entirely Doctor Who just incase you didn't know the reference quote for the title.

This is completely ink (including the border). The only pencil in this drawing, is the white pinstripes on The Doctor's suit.

The Doctor as portrayed by David Tennant and Rose Tyler by Billie Piper.

Thanks! This was just...a sort of...design as you go, and the border came out of nowhere as a VERY last minute decision; and yet I still think this is the best of the series. So I'm glad you like the frame.

I love all the DW fanart. It helps to ease the craving between episodes, that and fanfiction

Yes it does...I swear one of these days I'm going to sit down and read some of your stuff. I miss the Doctor.

Though, the Easter special did help...just a bit.

I know. And it's almost the end for him. He's the best Doctor they've ever had. I'll still be a fan but he'll always be the Doctor in my mind. David is an incredible actor.

jennieannie In reply to cheriluvs10 [2009-05-06 04:52:53 +0000 UTC]

Exactly! I completely agree, he will ALWAYS be MY Doctor, just like everyone has their own Doctor. And I'm amazed at his acting ability. I still haven't seen Secret Smile or Einstein and Edington (though I have that one, just need to find the time to watch it); but from what I've seen...just amazing.

I am curious to see what Matt will do though, you know? Chris and Paul were both very good Doctors, as well as some of the others, so I'm just absolutely curious to see what Matt's Doctor will be like. Even though I will cry my eyes out when David's Doctor regenerates into Matt...it will not be a happy episode no matter what happens.

Both Secret Smile and Einstein and Eddington are fabulous! I think you'll love both. But I agree, he has the ability to make any character come to life and make you believe that character is real. Same for the Doctor. He makes the Doctor come to life and seem like a real person since he's given him more of an emotional range than any other actor has.

I'm the same. I'll be upset when David leaves but I'll give Matt a chance just because I'm a fan of the show and I know that eventually David had to leave. Not many people thought David would amount to anything and he's now more popular than Tom Baker so everyone who's saying that just because Matt is 26, that he's too young to be the Doctor might be in for a shock. But I'm working on a fanfic now that is partially set hundreds of years in the future in some chapters and I've included Eleven in it even though it's mostly about Ten and the clone. But I think it's interesting to speculate on what Eleven would be like and how he would dress and act. That's one of the things I'm curious to see.

Well, I really have to watch those then.

I agree, I don't think that Matt's age will affect him all that much. I mean, a persons acting ability is not defined by their age. And Steven Moffat sure freaked out enough over Matt, so there HAS to be something there. I'm so curious to what his Doctor will be like (especially his outfit). Besides, I learned to always give the new a guy a chance. I remember when Martha came in I thought, 'I'm done, there is no way I'm going to like her, she's the complete opposite of Rose in every aspect!' Well, glad I stuck it out! I love Martha as much as any of them (well, maybe not as much as Ten and Rose).

You're fanfic sounds really interesting! What is it called? Is it posted yet? I may actually have time to read.

They're my favorites along with Casanova and Blackpool.

I'm not that crazy about Martha. I like Rose and Donna but I respect people who do like her because I hate the stupid companion wars. Everyone has the right to like a companion or Doctor of their choice and flaming people who don't like your choice is childish and stupid. I use Martha in my fanfiction as a friend for the Doctor and I used her respectfully. She's not jealous of Rose and her and Rose aren't having catfights or whatever else they dream up for her.

The story I'm working on now is actually part of a series. The first story in the series is called Something Old, Something New and it takes place right after the Doctor leaves the clone and Rose on the beach and goes on from there. The first one is really long, 222 chapters and the one i'm working on now is up to 253 but it's more like a companion piece to the series and has a lot of different stories in it about the main characters in my story. The whole theme of the thing is about healing and the Doctor finding peace and happiness and love because I'm sick of constant angst with him. Angst is good but geez, give the poor guy a break. I have all my stories grouped together in folders and the order the series goes in is...

Something Old and New (what I call it on here since I can't fit the whole title in) then after that one in order is...

The Soldier and The Scientist
Terror of the Crystal Caves
My Son, My Enemy
Cult of the Cyber Messiah
Search For The Lost Ones

and the companion piece is called Life With The Family and most of it takes place between two scenes at the end of My Son, My Enemy.

Yikes!!! That sure is a LOT of writing! Well, I'm glad you wrote all that down, otherwise I would probably get lost before I even began to read. Hope to get to it sometime soon, as I do love long fanfics.

Well, I love to write. I can't go a day without writing something so that's why so many. I hate that you can't put them into series catagories here like you can on teaspoon.

Wow, wish I had a passion like that. I mean, I love to draw but I've found that I have to have a break in between pieces or else I get burnt out.

Teaspoon? What's teaspoon?

Teaspoon is a huge DW fanfic archive. Nothing but DW fanfics. Here's my page there with all my stories.

I get burnt out sometimes on fandoms but not on writing. I just have to do something creative or I get anxious.

Oh this is wonderful! I adore the border. And those two look so lovely together.

How on earth have you learned to use ink like that? If I should try doing something like that I'd probably end up with ink in my hair and mess on the paper.

jennieannie In reply to naturalshocks [2009-01-21 00:33:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much

As for me learning to use ink, I am pretty much self-taught in this medium. I had an instructor who once introduced me to ink but never really had an exercise for it. So, I began using the ink as I would watercolor and dilute it with water. I used several different values in many different cups, along with a quill/nib. The first portrait in ink I completed was Rose. When I first began ink, I was terrified I would spill it everywhere (and often had ink stained fingers).

Btw, I love you Time Stands Still

Oh, this sounds so complicated. I've never tried ink and I haven't done much with watercolours either, but I truly admire people who are able to produce such wonderful art with those mediums. Perhaps I shall try something in the future, but I'm not sure about it. I'm too in love with my pencils.
