Description Sunlight broke through the canopy of trees to light the path a young couple was traversing.  Birds and other insects provided a chorus of sounds to accompany them, but they were otherwise alone in their journey.  They weren't dressed for any grand adventure or anything: the man wore a rich purple top with a rose pink undershirt, with pants of the same colour as the latter, and a pair of fine-crafted brown sandals; his wife wore a rose pink sari to cover most of her body, but unlike her human husband, she possessed the lower body of a snake, a hybrid in their culture.  The flattened ground peppered with the occasional flat stone was clear indication that this path had been traversed by hundreds and thousands of people before.

"How much further is it, Aryan?" asked Khushi, her eyes darting between him and the surrounding flora, as if to keep her mind occupied while they traveled.

Aryan rolled his eyes and pointed forward.  "Right there."

They both looked forward into a large opening in the jungle, long since cleared for hundreds of years to make way for a moderately-sized temple, with several pillars situated close to its entrance and at key points at the outer corners of the sandstone-coloured structure.  A small set of stairs led up to the entrance doors, built of dark brown ornate wood and strengthened by golden metal railings, with serpentine figures carved into the panels.

"Oh!" Khushi giggled, a bit stunned by the coincidence of her question regarding the timing of their arrival.  Proceeding down the path some more before climbing up those stairs, they soon stood before the doors.  Aryan shook off his sandals and nudged them off to the side before pressing his hand against the left door.  With relative ease, the door creaked open, and they entered into the temple.  Being polite to close the door behind them, the two of them looked around at the small vestibule they entered into.  Two pillars and pools of clear water resided on either side of the room, the walls and floor made up of smooth sandstone bricks and tiles, respectively.

"Wow, this place is pretty neat so far!" exclaimed Khushi, studying the pillars up and down, noticing simplistic snake and human engravings made into the pillar's capital.  "They sure put a lot of work into this place."

"Well, it's for a Goddess, so, kinda imagine they would," Aryan said in a rather bored tone.

Khushi looked over at her boyfriend.  "Aren't you at least bit excited?  This is your first time here too, right?"

Aryan shrugged.  "Yes, but," he raised up his bottle of spirits and took a sip, "I'm not interested in how the place was built.  I just want to see if the Goddess can help me - us."

"Oh you.  You seriously need to live a little," Khushi chuckled as she elbowed her boyfriend, who merely sighed; though his expression did break into mild amusement for a moment from this action, it quickly went back to the glum, uninterested look he had most of this trip.  "Let's head further inside."

The two of them proceeded forward, Aryan's timid bare-footsteps drowned out by the soft sliding of Khushi's ventral scales on the smooth sandstone tiles.  Passing through a large doorway outlined by more elegant engravings and stonework, they entered into the hall, much larger than the vestibule, yet still just as grand and stunning.  Four large pillars stood on either side with large pools of water situated behind them, flowing forth from the raised back section of the hall.  Two more pillars stood within a semi-circle of water curving around to both sides of the raised section straight ahead of the couple.  The sound of the flowing water was pleasant to the ears in the otherwise still and quiet hall.

"For the size, it actually feels pretty cozy," Khushi noted as she looked around.  "Nothing too complicated.  Though that's kinda funny how they have fluorescent lights installed."  She pointed up at the ceiling, which revealed to not only contained a small skylight in the center, but was also populated by a number of modern fluorescent lights to provide long-term light for the temple.

"Huh," muttered Aryan, his mouth twitching in contemplation, before he had another drink.  "That is kinda weird.  Looks sorta odd, considering, ya know, it's a temple and all.  The modern lights look... out of place?"

"I myself am quite fine with it all," boomed a pleasant voice from the raised area before them.

The couple jumped in mild shock as their heads quickly turned to the originator of those words.  Resting atop of the raised area on a vast bed of rich pillows of all sorts of colours was the reason the couple had journeyed to this temple: The Snake Goddess.  A giant female entity who represented all the castes of Hidean society, her head and lower body were those of a snake, her neck longer than the average human's, but her torso remained human in anatomy and form, her dark skin free of any scales.  Her two breasts were easily much larger than her own head, bountiful in size and life-giving properties, and possessed six arms with which to cradle life close to her, as well as to multitask, something a goddess such as herself would most likely do.  Her tongue flicked out as her mouth curled into a smile.

"Come closer," she beckoned the couple.

Aryan and Khushi took a few slow hesitant steps, before moving more comfortably through the large room toward the base of the three feet of stairs leading up to the Snake Goddess.

"That'll be good," the Snake Goddess said, repositioning herself and her head to get a better look at her visitors.  "So, what brings you to my presence?"

"Uh, well," Aryan started, scratching his head as he took another sip of his drink," it's about me, and my girlfriend."

Khushi blushed a little as she watched her boyfriend speak his mind, before her eyes drifted up to the Goddess, spurring her to blush even more as her eyes landed upon the large breasts she possessed.

"Things have been busy,  with her away all the time with work, and me over at my family's house... helping, yeah, helping out with, suppers, and, stuff.  I kinda wished we were together more often."

The Snake Goddess raised an eyebrow as she stared down at Aryan.

Khushi joined the Goddess in looking at Aryan too, her expression becoming mildly puzzled.  "I know I've been busy with work lately, but maybe if you were at our apartment more, and had a job-"

Aryan's face stiffened.  "I, I gotta help out with my folks, as they're... they need my help, because, like, my mom, she's like-"

"She's only fifty-eight, which isn't that old ya goof.  Are you sure you actually need to be over there 'helping' them?" Khushi questioned, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow.

Aryan turned to Khushi, "Of course!"

"Sounds to me like you two have some interesting lives in place," spoke the Snake Goddess, a hand scratching her chin as she took this all in.  "Might I ask what you do?"

"As I said, I hang out at home to help my mother and father, tidying the house, helping with meals, all that stuff," answered Aryan.  "At least until, like, ya know, they don't need me or something."

"I work at a car dealership down the road," Khushi said with more optimism than her boyfriend.  "I'm one of the salesmen there.  Recently one of the others quit, so I've been having to deal with a few more clients than usual."

The Snake Goddess nodded as she heard their responses.  "I see.  So, Aryan, it seems like your family needs your aid quite a lot, despite your mother sounding to be in good condition the way Khushi spoke of her."

"Exactly!"  said Khushi, happy that the Goddess is understanding what's going on.  "I seriously think he just lounges over there all day just to avoid actually working."

Aryan's eyes widened with disbelief.  "Oh, that ain't true!  I've told ya, they, need me to help them with meals and stuff, since they're so busy with work and stuff!"

"But what about me, Aryan?" snapped Khushi.  "And you need to get a job too ya know!  What do you want?  Me, or your chill life at your parents?"

Aryan's face petrified, his gaze stiff as his brain turned like clockwork to worm his way out of this mess, especially before the Goddess.  "Ummm," was all he could say, trying to buy himself time while he figured a way out to retain his relationship but still enjoy his luxurious lifestyle.

Khushi looked up at the Snake Goddesss.  "Could you help us out?"

The Snake Goddess sat up from her lounge of pillows, standing up straight on her lower half.  "I could.  But it might come at a bit of a cost, all things considered from what I have heard from you two," she said, an air of whimsical charm in her voice as she spoke of the cost.

"Anything to help us out, please," Khushi muttered, half-chuckling as she shook her head, looking over at Aryan.

Aryan looked at Khushi questionably, "Wait, I thought this was about me asking the Goddess for... no wait.  Wait," he spun around to face the Goddess.  "What's going on?"

"This," the Snake Goddess cooed as she twirled two of her hands in the air, before spreading her fingers out toward the couple down before her, her smile ever-increasing in size as her power seeped into their bodies to bring about her blessing.

Khushi's tail immediately shot up - guided by the Goddess' mystical power - into Aryan's backside, piercing through his pants and merging with his spine.  Aryan's face contorted in shock as a wave of nervous energy coursed through him, as his and Khushi's bodies joined.  He spun around to analyze with his eyes just what had happened, only to instead see his girlfriend watching her arms and legs get sucked into her body as it became more cylindrical, serpentine, and less human.  In seconds, all that was left of her humanity was her head, which didn't last long as her bones and flesh realigned themselves and pushed out into an ophidian muzzle.  In just a moment, Aryan and Khushi were together, but with her now fully a snake joined to him as his tail.  The new weight of such a large tail forced him to hunch over to try and balance himself, almost losing his grip on his bottle.

"Holy crap, I'm a snake!" exclaimed Khushi, twisting about as she looked down at herself.  "Just like my mom!"

"What the hell?" Aryan asked, dumbstruck by what had transpired.  "Why... why are you attached to me, Khushi?  What just happened?"

"I think... the Goddess put us into a very weird situation," Khushi replied, looking up at her boyfriend. "One where we're gonna be spending a lot more time together.  No more lounging around over at your parent's place."

"Oh... oh crap..." it dawned on Aryan, that his workless days were over.  From dumbstruck awe, his face shifted into defeated gloom.

The Snake Goddess let out a short chuckle at this interaction.  "A strange change, but I feel this will force you, Aryan, to be more respectful and considerate of your girlfriend, given how much she's put into your relationship, and what you haven't."

"Dammit," was Aryan's response, as he started to realize the hole he had dug himself into.  His conscious got the better of him, wanting to spend more time with his girlfriend than live out a life with his family helping with minor tasks.  How else did he think this could go?  He didn't think this through, but what tiny amount of goodness which resided behind the grime, pride, and ego of his certainly did.  And now his girlfriend was a snake, joined to the end of his spine like a sentient tail.

"And now you'll have to come to work with me," Khushi reminded him, her mouth curved into a smile as she maneuvered herself up and gave him a playful lick on his cheek.

"Dammit..." he muttered again.

"It's time to devote yourself to this relationship, Aryan," the Snake Goddess chided playfully, laying down back onto her pillows.  "I wish you two the best of futures."

Aryan groaned as he turned around and made his way back to the vestibule and exited the temple, slipping on his sandals when he got outside.  The sun still shone as it had earlier but was starting to disappear behind the height of the trees all around them, the sky becoming more orange as the afternoon was coming to a close.

"Well!  This will certainly make my, or should I say, our, job quite interesting," Khushi said as she moved her body around, getting used to being a snake anchored to the moving entity which was her boyfriend.  "You'll have to grab all the papers and do more of the physical stuff while I talk to the clients."

"Ugggh, you know how much I dislike working with, other people," Aryan rolled his eyes.

"Oh shush, you don't need to talk to them.  That's what I'm for!" Khushi gave his head a little nudge.

"With, I said, ugh, just... ugh!" Aryan could not believe what has happened to him.  "How did I..." he shut his eyes and palmed his forehead, trying to muster just how this turned out.

"It's okay, Aryan.  We'll get through this.  I'll help you through this," comforted Khushi, who nudged his shoulder this time.

Listening to her words, he contemplated them, and everything else, for a moment, as he continued to walk them down the path through the jungle back home.  After a minute of silence, he sighed.

"I'm such a dolt."

----------------------------------------------------------

A random, fun little picture I sketched up one day, and felt the urge to line and colour it up.  I was going to just attach a short summary of the story, but then got inspired to make it a fuller story.  Which ended up taking a bit longer than I thought, now that I had to make the TF-story make a bit more sense.  Then I had to refine some details regarding Aryan's character so the events of the story felt more warranted.

So in the end, turned into a bit larger of a project than intended, ha ha.  But overall, it was some good practice!

Being blessed by the Snake Goddess, they'll probably receive a bit more attention from others, especially given their form, as it's not really a common one.  Yeah, they're families are going to be quite surprised about what's happened to them for sure!  Hopefully no one had any objections with their relationship as now it's a bit too late to do anything about it, ha ha.

Huh!  Well, I do tend to make my male characters look more idealized in my mind, and at times maybe a bit "pretty" and androgynous.  I tried to keep him mostly male, but I guess maybe I did dip down into androgyny a bit more than thought~

Ha ha, indeed!  Especially given how screwy things were, he should have tried to anticipate trying to be a bit more sympathetic and understanding of everything.  But, not quite, and thus, now he's very much stuck together with his girlfriend through thick and thin!
