In the context of the story Teir has 'two souls' which due to an epic struggle of epicness (Read: Rather mundane spiritual creation) has later in life caused one of her eyes to darken to black to represent her duality. The blackening of the eye was also caused when what-ever power the second soul gave her was painfully depleted and ripped from her being. So...it's like a spiritual war-wound.

That's interesting (sounds painful) Was it someone else's soul that possessed her or are they both hers?

It was someone elses soul who had possessed her. This second soul --we will call soul A -- fought against another soul --B-- for dominance over Teir's body while she was a child. Soul B almost won but Soul A managed to fit B off. In the process only a part of Soul A survived when it merged with Teir's soul. This left her with vague memories of Soul As' past life and the ability to see the other Souls/Ghosts that live in the realm btwn living and the dead.

I do have some writing on deviant here in my gallery. It's under the collection Throne of Darkness but they are VERY rough versions. The newer stuff I have on my computer and will post soon.
