Because I wanted to make sure and remember what type of butterfly that was. It's a White Morpho, so I just tagged the name on the picture.

ahhh, it' such a shame that it's sold already. it's really nice. it migh not be anatomicly correct, but i like the flowey bendey legs and neck. the coloring job is so great and the colors blend so well. the mane came out very well, all curled and pretty.

*chuckles* sorry about that. I'm thinking of doing a few more in this kind of soft... really way not anatomically correct but stylized way of doing things. ...... *realises that she's not making sense and wanders off*

ACK I waaaant it! Why the heck do I always find these so late?!? I should check d/art more often. I think this is something that you need to do alot of, so that I can buy some, lol
It makes me want to use the word ickle.
Have you ever read the children's book Flutterby? This reminds me of it

*nodnodnod* I remember flutterby when I was younger. That was a *major* influence in my art for a very long time. That and the last unicorn... which is why I can never draw a realistic horse like... ever *laughs*
And yes I'll be doing more of them, pretty little things to randomly post up for twenty bucks. Just keep an eye out. I'll probably just name them after the butterfly breed of their wings.

Ohh I love those green ones! I got a really awesome photo of one at the butterfly house^^ I have no idea why they're called that either. I think they guys who named the butterflies were drunk when they did so. There's stuff like June Beauty and Promethean...it's just odd.
Oh by the way! I've posted some high res buttefly wing stock photos if you'd like to have some more wing references for this project! Feel free to have at em!

you want crack names? One of my buddies was researching fish for a mermaid drawing she's doing, and came across a fish called a 'slippery dick'. I just about *died* when I saw that!
And awesome! this isn't so much a project as just me trying to break up the monotony of commissions and those really detailed pieces. things that are quick and easy for me to do (hence dropping them out at twwenty bucks for hte original), and help keep my imagination somewhat flexible *chuckles* But I'll definitely pull those up and see what all there is!

well save the magnifying lamp for when your'e doing a mini masterpiece. Ask sam sometime, miniatures can take as long as a full sized piece if you get detailed enough. These aren't done with any sort of aide, just a swift, loose, quick coloring and sketching. You'll find yourself less attached (hopefully), and more relaxed about your pieces.
I have no clue who named it, but I've been cracking up about it for a while now.
