Chapter 3

“Oh, how I have missed you, Shadow” said a voice from a far, Shadow looked around confused and startled at the sudden deep voice. Wait, they spoke English and they knew him? The voice seemed familiar but it was not Black Doom his supposed father. The dark hedgehog’s ears twitched and his ruby eyes stared towards the golden door that was left slightly open. Purple tentacles started coming into the room opening the door fully, a large eye staring back at him, if he had a mouth a smirk would be on his face. His red slit eye creepily stared at Shadow some more looking like he was trying to read Shadow like a book. He fully showed his full body and came closer to Shadow, hovering near the bed, before Shadow stood Doom’s eye.

“I’m not going to lie, I was not sure if we were ever going to see you again Prince Shadow. You have been a bad boy, killing your father like that, well now you must take his place. We have long awaited you Shadow, and whether you like it or not you will have to follow in his footsteps. It was truly impressive how easily you killed Black Doom, a strong leader is good and that’s exactly what we want.” Doom’s eye said hovering over Shadow and touching Shadow’s face with his tentacles, Shadow looked at Doom’s eye disgustedly and growled. “You do realise that I will never be your king, you can’t make me your king.”

Doom’s eye laughed at his dead master’s son “In a few days you will be crowned King, when a Black Arm is made king a curse is cast on him. The first ever Black Arm king at the beginning of time hated his son with a passion, he was nothing like him. He was too nice, too willing to change things to make people happy instead of just ruling them making everyone his slave. The first king was worried he wanted us Black Arms to become leaders of the universe, so he cast a spell on his crown that from that day on when a Black Arm becomes king and the crown is placed on his head. The king becomes cursed his mind will become vengeful, his heart will darken and he will became a demon in the eyes of others. He will be feared by everyone and slowly through the generations by the power of these kings we have slowly enslaved each planet, taking their power. Making them all individually bow down to us, work for us, fight for us, no one goes against us. Earth was meant to be next, their power was the Chaos Emeralds, Black Doom helped Professor Gerald make you to collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds for us, and Gerald unknowingly made the perfect son for Black Doom to take his place. It truly is a shame that in the end you ended up killing him, but now when you are crown you will make him proud.”

Shadow was completely and utterly speechless, this was not was his was expecting at all, Doom’s eye chuckled at his confused expression. “With most of the Chaos Emeralds here and you under our control, your power will really come in useful. We are currently preparing your coronation, we also need to find you a mate, our army needs to grow and you need a son to follow in your footsteps.” Doom’s eye hovering his way to the golden doors. “What?! you are not going to get away with this, and I don’t need a mate or a son. Now that I think about it I have never seen any female Black Arms here.” Shadow said while he eagerly tried to break the energy binding him to the bed. “Oh Shadow you still have so much to learn abut your own culture, your own heritage. Did you not realise we are all male, we are not like the Earth living creatures that you know of, we don’t need males and females. We can breed with other males or on our own if we wish, I think there is the earth word for this type of breeding but sadly my English is not the best.” Doom’s eye left the room leaving Shadow completely alone with himself and his thoughts.

Meanwhile Sonic was banging against the bars trying to break them open somehow, after half an hour he gave up for the moment. “This isn’t fair Tails, this was not meant to happen, it was meant to be like that Avatar film when we go to a new planet and everything is super cool.” Sonic said frowned crossing his arms. “Life is not a movie, Sonic you know that, we knew something like this could of happened, I guess we should of become way more prepared.” Said Tails playing with a long piece of metal he found on the ground, his two tails flicking side to side slightly.

“There’s got to be away that we can get out of here, come on Tails think! You are a genius without you who knows what could of happened in the past, and you can help now in the present too.” Sonic quite literally begged Tails going down on two legs. “We need to save Shadow and get back home to Earth who knows, some random Black Arm alien demon douchebag could be feeling him up or something.” Sonic said to his teenage sidekick. Tails suddenly stopped what he was doing “I swear you are in love with Shadow or something but at least this time you have a reason to be obsessing over him. You are right we do need to get out of her and rescue him… and I think I know how.”

Meanwhile Shadow was still stuck in the large room kicking and yelling trying to get the energy keeping him tied to the bed to go away, he yelled frustrated. He suddenly heard whispered coming from outside his room, his ears perked and he looked towards the door. The door was wide open and several Black Arm men were looking into his room whispering but they all seemed to stop when they noticed Shadow staring at them and growling with his ears back and his quills up. Suddenly they are parted to make way for one Black Arm man in particular that came in with food, he put it next to Shadow on a small table that when then moved closer to Shadow so he could reach. The servant that brought his bowed at Prince Shadow and left closing the door behind him, the other Black Arm men seemed annoyed at the servant to closing the door, it seemed they wanted to have a good look at their up coming king.

Shadow could not help but wonder what they were all thinking about him, seeing their Prince tied up like this and yelling in a language they could not understand themselves, it must seemed weird. The black hedgehog looked over, his ruby eyes seeing the square bowl filled with some sort of pink soup, or at least he assumed it was soup. Wait how was he even supposed to eat this soup if his hands were tied, how the hell did they expect him to eat?! Did they just expect him to go face into the soup and drink it like some kind of animal?! Surely a prince should be given more respect and should be allowed to eat properly, but I guess keeping him on a bed instead of some dungeon was all the privilege he would get until he was forced to become their king.

Looked at the pink again then realised something, the soup was moving on it’s own. Shadow backed back onto the bed staring at it not sure what to expect, wait the energy that tied him to the bed was no longer he was able to get off the bed but it was not able to walk far. Sadly he was still stuck but now it seems he can walk around a bit, how the heck do they control these things? The door swung open suddenly making Shadow jump to his embarrassment, he’s been so jumpy since he got here. Doom’s eye stayed in place staring at Shadow. “I see you got your food, well let me help you with that.” Two of his tentacles did a wired motion towards Shadow and suddenly he felt something around his neck. He looked down and saw the energy chain was now on his neck and attached to the bed, but his hands were free. This could become useful in escaping Shadow thought to himself, if he forgot to switch it back to the way it was before. Shadow rubbed his wrists, he did not realise with all that pulling that he had hurt himself.

Shadow frowned angrily at Doom’s eye “Oh don’t look so upset Prince, now eat up it’s still alive just for you.” Shadow looked back at the supposed living meal in front of him with disgusted. “What the hell is it and why is it alive?!” Shadow said looking at the bowl like it was going to eat him. “Why don’t you just try it, your whole life you have been eating nothing but disgusting human food and now you can finally have food from your own home. It’s a delicacy, I’m sure you will love it, just make sure you don’t choke they tend to try and crawl their way back up your throat.” Just like that everything went black and Shadow fainted.
