illustration landscape (inked: fine tip pen(.2,.4) and brushes( gray and black))
Stardust is my most complex illustration I have done, it’s an amalgamation of nature and technology in done as a landscape. It is meant to tell a story in one image; Astronauts are stranded in a planet, their ship is broken and must venture forth. The design of the ship is based on a conch shell the texture and the way drawn both reflect that especially from the centrepiece, the landscape of the illustration is set on a very rocky surface this also serves the purpose of giving more depth to the image itself. This work is inspired by the works of Jean “Moebius” Giraud especially from his landscape illustrations. this illustration took a lot of effort to make, i found that the inking progress was the hardest part of the drawing since I often have second thoughts on how every line should be placed but I believe that it all came together in the end.
