Description
I thought it was going to take me longer to complete, but it seems I was able to easily put together the massive shark that is the final form. Now people will have even more of a reason to find Relicanth, cause who doesn't want to train a Megatooth Shark...Makes Sharpedo look like a chew toy.55. Relicanth
Type: Water/Rock
Ability: Rock Head/Swift Swim
Name Meaning: Relic + Coelacanth
Evolves to: Relicuda (lvl up holding Fossil Tooth)
Info: RELICANTH is a rare species that was discovered in deep-sea explorations. This POKΓ©MON's body withstands the enormous water pressure of the ocean depths. Its body is covered in tough scales that are like craggy rocks.
56. Relicuda
Type: Water/Rock
Ability: Rock Head/Swift Swim
Name Meaning: Relic + Barracuda
Evolves from: Relicanth (lvl up holding Fossil Tooth)
Evolves to: Coeladon at lvl 50
Info: Though Relicanth was thought to be unchanged, deep in the underground water systems it had to adapt in order to survive, thus Relicuda was formed. More aggressive than it's predecessor, as well as faster, it could seek out and catch prey in the blink of an eye.
57. Coeladon
Type: Water/Rock
Ability: Rough Skin/Swift Swim
Name Meaning: Coelacanth + Megalodon
Evolves from: Relicuda at lvl 50
Info: Once a deadly predator, Coeladon was the largest amoung water types at one time, rivaling that of the great Wailord. It's rough and rocky skin made it a difficult predator to defeat, and it wasn't until the mass eruption of the early ages, causing the oceans to shrink, that this pokemon finally became extinct, allowing for those that were known as it's prey to survive and grow. Relicanth was said to have been related to this enormous monster at one point in time.
Credits: Because I did not create the sprites used to make them, nor the creatures in which this was formed (and what it became), I give credit to those who made it possible for me to do this. Thank you.
Nintendo - Pokemon being a product of theirs.

wow, thats really an excellent idea. making a relacanth into a megalodon is perfect. Come to think of it, i think sharpeedo is the only shark in the game?
i wish there was a way to submit to nintendo this because im sure it would get some serious attention

Yeah, I have this idea that no pokemon (excluding legendaries) should be left without an evolution, whether prevo or evo. I'm currently working on making sure every pokemon has some form of evolution. Relicanth is like a fossil type, and it just seemed to be lacking, and turning it first into a Baracuda and then into a Megalodon shark was something I thought would work. currently in official sharpedo is the only shark, plus Garchomp's line is a land-shark dragon. I also made an alternate evo for Sharpedo and made it a Hammerhead Submarine pokemon.
I'm actually working on making an entire region, and have a project going with a team to make a rom hack. We're planning to send the finished hack into them as a sort of sample to nintendo.

Welp the trainers are up, its just that they have no color yet. Any ideas? I'm still thinking green and or orange.

I like how they've turned out so far, as for color I'd have to throw in some details, because just two colors would be bland in my opinion.
Boy: Black (Bandana, Gloves/gauntlets, Boots, Belt); Dark Orange (Pants, Shirt); Dark Blue (Overcoat thing/Chest piece, Trim Lines); Brown Sack; Blonde Hair; Gold (Diamond shaped thing on the belt).
Girl: Black (Boots, Sash/Belt, Neclace); Light Orange (Pants/shorts, Shirt); Green (Trim Lines); Brown Sack; Red Hair; Emerald Pendant.
Now, for the girl, I can't tell if those are Ring Braclets or part of a glove/gauntlet, either way, I think the ring shapes on her arms should be a gold color...and if it is a gauntlet make it black.
The skin should be somewhat tan, and do what you want with the eyes. This should turn out really well, keep up the good work. Once they are done all we will need is to put them in front of a background, with their backs facing each other (meaning all that would have to be done is flip the girl to where she's facing the other direction), and then either you or I can add the Pokemon Underground title up at the top.

It's ready for inspection, took longer than expected redoing a few thing as it refused to save. My problem though. Also, I had to scratch the blue from the boy, because I realizes that Yellow, blue, and orange made him look too much like a Goku ripoff. every thing else turned out good though.

Yeah, I kinda figured it woud end up looking that way after I said it, wasn't sure how it would fit in, but, what if you replaced the blue areas I described with a crimson color. One thing I have to say though, the pokevall symbols..and the pokeballs themselves, they don't fit with the region because this region never developed the technology for the newer balls, and instead, all pokemon in their region are captured by crystalized orbs formed in the caves. So, to keep it in alignment with the culture behind the game, the pokeball sybols on the clothes should go. I realize that it might seem odd, but it just wouldn't look right to have the designs of them in a region that never knew about them.

It's cool no rush, I understand how that is. But I do like what I see, it is a really wild style there, it that partially ancient tribal feel to it without seeming too old. A perfect design. Are her pants supposed to be see thru or something? And I'm really digging the belts/sashes, nice touch. Not sure if everyone else likes seeing this, but in a way the boy's outfit closely reminds me of The Green and White Ranger's suits from Might Morphin, I'm a fan of the original show, so it doesn't bother me any, plus I think it's cool, gives him detail and a bit of style.

I'm back.
Thanks, I was trying to get that underground tribal look without losing the pokemon style, that took a while. yeah they're transparent, gives it a different look to it. Thanks, but I can't take all the credit on the boys design though. I got the poncho design from avatar and Alder from B\W, but I do plan on putting more detail to it separate from the others, I also plan to give them bags on the final one. It didn't occur to me that it looked like the ranger vest. Never really cared if random people disapproved of my design choices unless their opinion made sense.

You're welcome. That's cool, I hadn't realized that it came from them, but now I actuslly do see it, quite a good design. I do like the bag idea, because that would fit with the plans I have..intsead of having a pc. since it is still tribal without much tech, all the extras they catch will go into their bag into slots, which will look just like the pc view, but it'll just be in the bag. You can access it at any time, but the only time you can switch them with your party is by visiting the Shaman houses (like the pokemon center).

TYep, so it'll give people the ability to check on their other pokemon while they are still out, instwad of having to go to some building just to see all the others that you've caught.
Though, I often can't decide whether I want to change it up and make it to where you can switch it out in the open, that would make it easier to access, and it would make more sense..I'm leaning towards throwing that new twist, where all your pokemon are available to you, it would syill have it only to where you can have 6 out at a time, but as long as you aren't in the grass you can go inside your bag and switch out the pokemon in your party for ones in the bag.. Once in battle (or areas in which wild pokemon appear) the ones in your party are the only ones available to you...I'm wondering if that's how I should write it up, don't know, what dov you think? Use the shaman to switch or not? If not I'd say just go to him like you would the nurses at the center.
greed, it will turn out cool, but I've run into a snag, the laptop I was using messed up again, and until I fix it I can't edit the list, or have access to the current pokemon that I was working on, and we only have about 15 spots left, since I shortened the list down to about 171, making it easier to finish. The charging port is the only thing wrong with it, so until I fix it I'll just start writing some of the script, and setting up the character ideas.

hmm...I'm just thinking it might give the player too much of an advantage. Maybe let them switch out unless they're in a base(That's what your calling the gyms right?) or in caves if there in there. It sounds good though, I just think there should be something to balance it out like more enemies, maybe.
Dang that sucks, at least you're almost done with the list.

jetwhiskey In reply to serpentnight2350 [2012-07-20 18:51:05 +0000 UTC]
Well, I was basically thinking of making it to where say, if you were on a road, or in an area that wild pokemon can't pop out, like within the towns, or just outside the grass and caves. If you're in a cave, or grass, or on the water then no switching, and especially no switching in the Outposts (gyms), we don't want to give too much of an advantage...but here's the real trick to it, see unlike the rest of the games I would say that if yiou catch it and it goes into your bag, then it doesn't get healed automatically, and if you try to switch it out it will have the damage that it recieved when you caught it...When you go to the Shaman he heals all of your pokemon, not just the ones in your party, and that can be done because theres not going to be something where you'll see the "capture crystals" getting healed, all you'll see is the character handing over the bag to the Shaman, there's a few flashes, and then it's done, and he hands it back. So, until you actually visit the town Shamans any pokemon that recieves damage out there and is switched into the bag keeps it's damage, kinda like how Misty had all her pokemon in the show, she kept them all with her in the bag.
Defenitely more enimies, way more, and alot more stuff to do as well...also, I plan to make it to where you get two different Surf moves, you'll have the original Water one, but you'll also recieve a Fire version of it as well known as Lava Flow, which would allow certain pokemon, like Blazark, to swim across the magma...and both would be unlocked for use at the same Outpost. I thought it would be an interesting twist since the ocean is made up of magma in that region. You'll still get badges, but they'll be somewhat different. and will allow you to access further areas in the game, with them the guards of certain areas will let you through if you have the right badges.
Also, I know that there's already a take-over happening, but there will be a group in the region known as the Shadow Court, which will be under the command of the advisor of the king...like if you've ever seen Lord of the Rings or anything like it, you know the guy who is at the side of the king, and gives gim all the info..well this one is corrupt, and is actually the one who convinced the prince to go against his fathers wishes and make war on the rest of the region. At the end when you beat the prince he'll reviel himself as the true enemy, and run away, to try to awaken and control the true evil, known as Volnecross, which obviously he fails and the player will have to go find the Legendary that goes with the game, while your rival and a friend of the character (Who are both from the same island as the player) will go find the other two legendaries, to get their help in order to defeat Volnecross.
Yeah, true, and I was working an a really interesting one too, I had completed one, but hadn't gotten to make it's evolution yet, so I'll have to wait for that.

Oh alright that makes thing clear, go for it.
Hmm...I didn't realize that there was water on the map, I shouldn't have missed that. On a different subject, have you thought of putting a dark move that allows you to sneak passed people or certain pokemon? (just a thought)
Ah, i get what you're saying, like Jafar or Starscream. Hmm...seems well organized to me, the only thing that's needed is a programer.
Damn computers, can't live with them, can't live without them.

Alright then, it's settled, access will be open, I think players will like the easier access.
Yeah, there's a giant lake in the middle of the continent, and you can't get to the 7th and 8th Outposts without it. I was also thinking that, I just edited the map's infomation, now there are 10 HMs, Surf & Lava Flow are unlocked by the badge you get after beating General 6, while Dig & Shadow Crawl are unlocked by the badge given by General 4.
Exactly, like that, and yes, we defenitely need one of those.
True, too true.

Yep, and I made a Bird with bat wings, and a Bat with bird wings, makes it strange, but somewhat interesting, plus the bat can glow in the dark...which I'm planning on giving it a new ability that's not in the list, something that makes it so that you don't have use flash, like something where the pokemon already shines, which could 1. Light up caves, and 2. lessen the accuracy of the opponent.

I still haven't figured out how I'm going to make that one, the design idea is tough, because I actually have to find parts that will fit together to make it look good..and so far there's only one pteradactl pokemon and two others that are related to that group.
I see, well, I bet they will turn out great once they are done.
My goal to reach 187, if you don't count the ones I'm currently working on since their info is already in the dex, has only 31 pokemon to go, trying to fill up the spots with stuff, don't want to use too many ones that already exist.

Yeah that does sound difficult, should be doable though. Yup but it will take time, still trying to figure out the head gear. Headband design and other kinds of head gear. Still trying to see what works.
Hmm...makes sense, you can't be underground and not see some familiar ground and rock pokemon. I would make a new bat pokemon instead of tossing in Zubat.
