I've just recently gotten turned onto the series Firefly (and subsequent movie Serenity). I loooove the show and characters. I enjoyed it watching it so much, I wanted to draw something from it. Started this sketch and it kinda ran away with itself.i'd like to do more of the characters and fit them together so (theoretically) they'd all fit in one big image, or stan alone. but that's alot of work...we'll see how my attention span holds out
(her likeness ended up being tougher to capture than I thought...think it works? or not quite?)

The main thing about her face is that her facial expressions are actually very neutral, in physical terms. Her eyebrows should be almost flat, her nose and mouth softer, and the corners turned down. Although the facial expression suits the pose wonderfully, it's a very un-river-like one.
This is a gorgeous pose, by the way, i love the dress, and the boots look right. She was wearing them for all the fight sequences except the first time she shoots a gun. Also her hair is pretty ^_^

Looks great, but I know what you mean about it being tough to capture her image. For some reason River is very difficult to draw..

Awesome. You definitely captured her spirit. Only advice: her eyes aren't very big, but they are set kind of far apart. So I would say the placement is good, but they need to be about half the size. Everything else is perfect. I hope you do make a whole set of these.
