You're forgetting the most obvious use for Caterpie of all: Lightning Rod for everyone's anger! People, pokemon, you name it! Remember: Abuse is funny when a Caterpie is on the receiving end. Or Luvdisc.Or Ledian. Or Spinda. Or the most hilarious of all: BIDOOF!!!

It is pretty funny, isn't it? I personally find Luvdisc the most fun to punish for being useless. Besides, we're already abusing pokΓ©mon by capturing them and forcing them to battle each other.
