Self Realization (detail), oil on canvas, 24 x 24 inchesThanks for the DD, here's a detail of that painting. To bad it was poorly scanned - the result was a bit washed out. But I hope this gives you a better idea of how I painted it.

I read the comment below, and only then do I "attempt" to make artistic criticism. Even though I may understand what is being pointed out, my first judgment is based purely on feeling and emotion, as an art lover. I love it, just as it is, and would not change a thing. To me it brings out emotion.

Hey Jialu,
Very pretty. My only comment would be that the fingers on the left hand are creating a tangent that is a bit too flat (all the fingers make a line). Even though it might be exactly like the photo you took, you might want to move the 2nd and 3rd finger out a little bit to create more of a curve with that hand. By doing so, it will also work with the curve of the left breast. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just text me and I'll do a quick paintover to show you.

Thank you especially! I know exactly what you are talking about and I agree! She's not my only figure with awkward fingers, and I hope I'm getting better as I go along. It's too late for her, because she sol to a collector many years ago, but I am happy to have a critical eye.
