Ok so here's my totally logical conclusion;Gyrados = Power Shower!!
.... Well no one seems to have a bathroom or toilet in Pokemon so clearly you get a Magikarp, you evolve it and you teach it Hydro pump and tadaaaa~! You have a shower!.... Ok so Lance got a few scratches (don't ask me where, could be *anything*; animal, mineral or champion) and now Gyrados is washing them off... but I fail at drawing Gyrados so just Buff!Lance will have to do!
