Aaaaaand end prologue!!Bet you're all glad that's over with.
Now we can start on Chapter 1!! And daww at Maly & her bro bein' cute.I'm pretty happy with how the rain panel turned out. DRAWING THAT SUN WAS SUCH A PAIN IN MY ASS.
Had to do my own lens flare & everything. >3>Wasn't entirely sure what sound effect to use for that raindrop that fell on Maly. So I went with 'piff' because it sounded close enough.

Did you make up the word Levitai or does it really mean something? What's the language it's from?

It's basically a made up word.
It's pretty much the word 'levitate' with the letter 'i' replacing the 't' & 'e' at the end.

Wonderful, Rachael! The light effects looks GREAT, by the way. Nice to see the prologue is done, though I might suggest a splash page of the Levatai's floating islands with a title and the sun breaking through the clouds. I know you're anxious to get to the story, but that would REALLY add a punch to the visual dynamic and be very memorable. Obviously, it isn't necessary to the story, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

Lighting is such a pain, but it pays off in the end.
Yeah, I'm probably gonna do that in the beginning of Chapter 1. Sometimes you gotta go beyond what's 'necessary' to make a good comic.

I went out exploring...I saw two cars COMPLETELY submerged not even half a mile from my house. The river in high bridge sounded like a waterfall. I got pictures!

I love the perspective on the first panel, it's a great dynamic shot and the last panel looks great too, the sun looks awesome as do the rain drop. I love the link of the last and first panel too, both high angle shots with the contrasting skies in the background.
Can't wait to read more.
