"How can you not love this time of year?"
Oh I don't know ... because it's going to be in the negative temps this week and I have to drive on the snow and ice covered streets all day?! Beside which I'm always worried my dangly parts may freeze off!

You know what would really be cool for this shot? A train coming down the track right at you (but at a safe distance). If you have a radio scanner, you could get the train freqs and find out exactly when a train is coming. My brother-in-law does it all the time and gets shots for his model train club. They need the photos to make their trains look more realistic. I went with him once and it's wild to be all set up and get the perfect shots of an engine coming right at you. I should post some of the shots I got.

I agree 100% about the train.
I've been trying, literally, for MONTHS (maybe a year actually) to catch a train going down that track with no luck as of yet.
I hear them every now and then but by the time I make it down there it's too late.
I have a scanner in my jeep, I'll have to see what I can find for frequency's and see what happens.

Here's a link I found of all the train frequencies used today: [link]
I have already programmed them into my scanner. I'm hoping to get the frequencies he uses very soon.
