Step by step process in how I did the Scouter Portrait painting....too lazy to do an official tutorial with brushes and layers and stuff...but it can always be useful to see the process.

Did you do the early stages on paper or on your computer? I envy that even your early sketches look awesome; mine usually look pretty not-so-good until I really buckle down and clean them up (though I don't feel too bad; I've seen some of Wendy Pini's idea sketches and they can be pretty messy, too

I'm 100% digital now, but some of my earlier work in my dA gallery isn't. One of the best things I did learning how to sketch on a computer. Saves me having to lug around a scanner everywhere.

I was actually really lucky with this one. There's usually more drama from me in the sketch stage. ---I guess I felt pressure cuz I knew I was going to post the stages of this. lol

I really like that one actually cause I can see the method you went by. I'm not good at sketches. There's no system in them ... or perhaps I should say, I haven't learned how to put a system into them. I basically draw the pencil sketch the way the picture is meant to turn out. Doesn't work most of the time though so it turns out completely different
Just ended up staring at the finished picture cause it caught my eye on the way out. That look in his eye you gave him ... there's absolutely NO way that either of his girls wouldn't drop whatever they're doing and come running posthaste
