I do like it! The man's face is intriguing. I would have liked to see the girl's face get a similar treatment.
It's a mediocre example, but I'd suggest checking out the art of the anime series "The Big O" and its simplistic animation style. The music is worth the watch, at least.
I like this direction, push the envelope more!
