Would you have any advice as to how to paint so loosely/suggestively? It's really very beautiful

I struggle a bit with that myself since I always want to detail everything and make everything very explicit. On this particular illustration I forced myself to stop painting. I looked at it and it was perceptible enough so I just forced myself to stop. I zoomed out to see if it was perceptible and it was, and I checked the values by removing saturation and they were also OK, so I just saved the JPEG and was done with it
It's a bit of a psychological thing, I think
In regards to the brushstrokes themselves, I think that they come out this way because I didn't use any linework for this, and made everything with no-hard-edges brushes, blocking in big shapes and refining them over time, and since I stopped at this point instead of refining further, it just came out more loose!

I do need to get back to making videos, I really really do! I like the process and I like that they help people out, but I'm always a bit anxious to do them as I think the images don't come out as well since I feel a bit more pressure

This is beautiful! I love how the sharp, geometric castle abruptly cuts off the organic scene behind it- shows the possibly sinister nature of where the character is going.
