So I made my main characters (with some editing)
for the original series I’m currently working on:
“Blood & Aether”.

Uma is an Alchemist who excels at engineering, thus preferring to think of herself as a Machinist.
As a young teen, she lashed out at law enforcement officers who had come to arrest her mother,
thus "earning" a prison sentence for herself, too; later, she was indentured out to a wealthy Alchemist
to serve as his lab assistant. Now, as an adult, she is wrongfully accused of his murder and lives on the run.

Nomiv is a young man who recently joined his hometown's City Watch (a police force) like his father before him.
Though short of stature, he possesses phenomenal climbing and acrobatic skills--a valuable asset
in suspect apprehension. However, after a chance encounter that (unfortunately) impresses Masque,
his world is thrown upside down ... and he finds himself embroiled in a revolution he opposes.

Masque (aka The Reaper) is a rare Shapeshifter who has used their abilities to become
the most feared (in part because the most mysterious) assassin on the Continent.
They truly trust and listen to only one person: their "Handler", who works for the revolution ...
but is impressed by, takes a liking to, and recruits Nomiv and Uma to work with them ...
both very much wish they hadn't, though.
